(After the previous chapter)
As I tried and failed to lift the heavy branch, the wolf whimpered louder again! I tried with all my might to no avail. As I tried the third time, another pair of hands appeared beside mine, and this time, I successfully moved it away.
I looked at him, but he had already turned away. I said, "Thank you, your highness, for the help!"
He just shrugged and jerked his head toward the wolf and asked, "What do you plan to do with him?"
And we both looked back at the wolf who was trying its best to get on its own feet but failing miserably. My heart broke at the sight of such a powerful animal being so helpless. But then I snapped out of my momentary clueless self and set myself in action.
As I reached inside the sleeve of my robe and took out the medicine bottles I was carrying with me, I replied to his previous question, "I have to help him as much as I can with the medicines I have with myself."
