Mom always told me, being humble is never a choice if you want to succeed in life. My first week at the Palace has been both satisfying and unpleasant. The work not much, but the environment is certainly not my type.
Since I started work, my phone has become a cemetery, so silent that I normally check to see if it mistakenly went off or not. I thought by been here, around him, he will probably be calling and texting non stop to see me or something. After seeing him at the dinning table my first day, I haven't seen him again. I don't know if he's avoiding me or not. I certainly want to apologise for the slap but I don't want to call first, I don't want to seem weak to him. I love Henry, and I want to know the status of this relationship.
My thoughts were interrupted by a sudden tap on my shoulder. I turn to see Esther, one of the maids here, staring at me quizzically. She smiled her all time infectious smile that got me smiling in return. She is my friend here at the Palace, although she is few years older than me.
"Anyone told you? You got an infectious smile", I said to her as I got another smile in return.
"sometimes. Are you okay? You seem deep in thoughts", she asked with care. It seems she cares but Mom told me, is not just anyone you share your problems to.
I smiled "nothing much, I was just examining my first week here"
She nodded "True. So how was it?"
"so far, it's been good. I like it here"
"Alright. But don't celebrate yet. It seems the Brothers have not approached you yet. Maybe they are giving you time to break in. Just becareful of them, especially Henry."
She walked out of the kitchen, leaving me to think more about what she said. What is she talking about.

As usual, the King and Queen left the table leaving their children to gossip and talk. Everyone around the table was talking, all at the same time. Henry wanted to be far away from the table, but he wanted to finish his breakfast.
"Alright then, what about the new maid, she's beautiful. I wouldn't mind", Philip suggested.
"Stupid"
"Idiot"
"Great"
As these words were spoken in response to Philip's suggestion.
"What is he talking about", Henry asked no one in particular but Selene felt the need to reply.
"Philip wants your next game to be my personal help, Selene"
Henry's fork stopped half way to his mouth as he dropped it to his plate suddenly losing his appetite.
"She's out", Henry shouted.
"What do you mean she's out. I agree with Philip, she's a beautiful. I wouldn't mind having that."
Henry stood up from his chair as he leaned on the table "when I say she's out, I mean that. You don't question me. Understand?", Henry sneered.
"And why would we listen to you?", James decided to talk.
"Don't worry, a bastard like you won't understand", Henry said as he walked out leaving Henry fuming with anger.
"That idiot", James shouted.
"James. Let it go. I think he is already in a bad mood. I heard his talk with Father last week didn't really go well", Selene comforted.
"Am not surprised, which idiot will want to marry him", James said angrily.
"Excuse me, I have things to do",James said as he took his leave.
"Well, excuse me. And Philip, stay away from Selene. I don't want to change my maid again because of you.", Selene warned.
"They are all idiots. So what do you think Jer", Philip asked.
Jeremy ignored him as he cleaned his hands ready to leave the table.
"Jer?"
"You heard what Henry said. She's out", Jeremy said as he stood up, leaving Philip at the table alone.
"What the hell is that. Is it a crime or what",He shouted. He pushed himself off the chair as he made his way out of the hall.
