(Hadar POV)
The dark cumulous clouds from the east started to dominate the sky. Then, the lights in the mansion turned on.
There was a storm coming, but thankfully, it wouldn't touch the capital as it was going to the southern part of the island.
Light rain hit the ground and the servants began to close the windows, just to be safe.
The dinner tonight was really delicious, but since my beloved Leona wasn't around, I wasn't happy at all.
Where was she? I asked the maids where she went to, but everyone was telling the same answer.
"Why the hell she is going to the parlor this night?" I rubbed my jaw as I contemplated it.
I was walking alone in the hallway.
What's the occasion today? Why did my woman want to go to the parlor? And, why Francis ain't here either?
"To think my servants are enjoying their time behind my back. This is unacceptable," he sighed.
"L, lord Hadar, we're enjoying our lives because you're here," the lime haired maid commented.
I stopped moving and turned around.
My eyes wrinkled upon seeing the maid.
"Oi, why are you following me?" I asked abruptly. "B, because Sir Francis asked me to," she answered politely.
My left eyebrows raised with lips pursed.
I gradually looked at her from toe to head.
'Her chests are big, but her brain might be small,' I commented.
"W, why are you sighing like that, milord?" she shivered. "Damn this girl," I sighed once again.
She tilted her head on the side with a curious face.
"What? Do I have no right to sigh?" I folded my arms across my chest. "N, no, please forgive me. I don't mean any disrespect, milord. Please, don't punish me for being ―" she stopped.
"Nevermind, you don't have to explain. Man, I wonder who the hell makes you my maid," I scratched my cheeks.
The maid giggled with a cheerful face.
"Lord Hadar, you're really a generous man. Not only you're talking normally with a common servant, but you're a child with a sense of humor," she said, smiling.
'Huh~?' my eyes turned half-opened upon hearing it.
"Hey, what's your name again?" I demanded. "Cassandra, milord," she answered respectfully.
"Cassandra, huh. Since you're following like a dog, let me ask you something. Do you know where Francis head to?" I inquired. "U, unfortunately, milord. I, I don't know. But I'm sure it is related to a stock gathering or something," she said with a cold sweat.
"Stock gathering? What do you mean by that?" I queried. "Sir Francis mentioned that he found out our stock was decreasing. He's very worried that we're going to be out of stock someday, so he voluntarily went shopping, milord," she explained.
'Aaah, fair enough. Wait for a second, I thought she doesn't know? Suspicious~'
"Hey, I thought you don't know?" I asked with sharp eyes. "E, e, eh? Uh, it is just a guess, milord. I'm just expressing an opinion because you asked me to. I, I'm not lying. P, please believe me," she bent her upper body respectfully.
"You know something I learned from my past life?" I bluntly spouted. "Hmm?" she tilted her head on the side again.
"Let me be frank, I don't trust what are you saying right now. But since you're my servant in this house, I will accept this answer for now. Believe it or not, I'm already becoming suspicious about this matter. I hate people who are lying and I hate being treated like a dense protagonist in a novel thus far," I declared, gravely.
Her pupils trembled and her face dropped a sweat.
"You're shaking too much, Cassandra. Are you perhaps hiding something from me?" I moved closer to her and looked at her eyes directly. "M, milord, please forgive me. I, I'm so sorry," she lowered her head down in apology.
"Good, I like people who are honest, especially the girls within my domain. Tell me, what is happening right now?" I demanded. "Lord Hadar, there is a coup happening within your borders. We're still don't know the cause of the commotion. Since we're lacking enough information related to the case, Sir Francis and Lady Leona went to the HIA office to gather intel. They even involuntarily joined forces to never tell this," Cassandra rattled on.
"Take it slowly. You're gonna bite your lips by mistake if you shake and rattle like that. Let me ask you something, why did they do that?" I inquired. "B, because they wanted to protect you," she said promptly.
"Protect me, from what?" I asked gravely. "They wished for your good health. Everyone prayed every day for your safety and happy life. Lady Leona mentioned before that you almost collapsed from overwork," Cassandra explained.
'Collapse? Did I collapse from overwork? Aaah, do you mean that day when I accidentally ate a portion of alcohol candy from Leona's collection. Man, she mistakenly believed I collapsed because of overfatigue, ' I chuckled inside my mind.
"M, milord?" Cassandra worried.
"Hey, who is committing treason against me?" I asked. "I, I think you misunderstand, milord. You're not the target of the coup. It is Prime Minister Flawkes we're talking about," she answered.
"The Prime Minister, huh. Man, what an unlucky old man," I chortled.
Cassandra stepped back upon seeing my face turned dark.
"M, milord, you're scary when you look like that," she said earnestly.
I placed a hand on my chest and sighed.
"To think there is a wonderful event happening my back. This is gonna be awesome," I commented, smiling.
"Milord?" she worried again.
"Cassandra, where is the coup happening?" I asked. "I, in the Lord Judas' domain, milord. It is located at the Tondo state," she answered.
I rubbed my chin to comprehend the place.
"Tondo, huh. It is only seventeen miles from the capital. I'm sure I can go there," I muttered aside that only I could hear.
"M, milord, what are you planning now?" she shuddered. "Cassandra, I'm gonna head out," I declared.
"Eeeh? Why? Where are you going then, milord?" Cassandra asked panickily. "I'm gonna pay a visit. I'm sure all of my corrupt politicians are behind this. I guess it's time to clean the mess within my planet," I chuckled.
"Milord, what do you mean by that?" Cassandra inquired. "I'm gonna join the party tonight," I declared with a terrifying smile.
"Eeeh?" Cassandra dropped her jaw in surprise.
"I'm gonna head out now. Don't tell this to those people. They are my family and I don't want them to get involved further," I commanded.
"A, a, as expected, you're really a benevolent ruler. You're not only putting your life in danger but also, you're treating all of us as your family too. This Cassandra here will follow your command, as per request," she announced respectfully.
'Huh? Is this girl okay? I'm referring to Leona and Francis. Don't add yourself as my family, dumbass.'
"Tell the others to prepare a car," I demanded.
She nodded.
"Are you going alone, milord?" she asked sincerely. "Yup, but don't tell the others, okay. This is a secret between us," I said, smiling.
Her face turned bright and her eyes sparkled in joy, like a twinkling star.
"This Cassandra here will absolutely keep this a secret. I promise on my life that I won't ever spill the bean on my mouth," she declared.
'Man, so deep. Now, I'm very worried. I pray she won't fail me.'
(Cassandra POV)
'Kyaaaa, Lord Hadar and I made a pact. We shared a secret that only one of us know,' I rejoiced.
Lord Hadar was really a wonderful and respectable man. Despite his age, he acted like an adult with a pearl of deep wisdom and assertiveness.
I was older than him for two decades, but age didn't matter about him.
His mouth was sharp, but his words graved a wonderful meaning for us.
My heart pumped so fast when he looked directly at my eyes. If he was an adult, I would already fall in love with him.
'Wait, I shouldn't. He's living the highest peak of heaven, and I am at the bottom of the surface of the earth. But still, I hope he doesn't mind it at all,' I wished.
My heart pumped so fast when I recalled his face. My lips were upturned with delight.
He literally asked my name again. He even made a silly joke to make us talk normally.
'Of course, he knows me. He's the one who recommended me to Lady Leona, though. I will never forget when he extended his hand to take me here. His warm hand was small and rough for a child, but his kindness was so big and smooth. This soothing sensation which I engrave inside my heart will never disappear,' I simpered.
"This will eternally remain in my memories until my death," I muttered.
Lord Hadar, the ruler of the nameless planet. The Baron child who used his authority to help his people was normally treating us as a family.
This Cassandra here promised to never betray him.
'This is my creed. I will follow suit,' I declared with guts pose.
(Hadar POV)
"Hatchoo!" I sneezed out loud. "What the hell? I wonder who is talking about me right now. Man, this is getting on my nerves," I grimaced.
I ordered the maid to prepare a car on my journey earlier.
The clock was tickling.
'I have to move now. I want to watch it personally,' I simpered.
