"That's correct, as for our new students; the mid-year prom is an event to formally acquaint everyone to the new students and even faculty in the university for the second time around" The teacher informed us that answered one of the questions in my head. "Of course, this is not your regular school that is usually just all about parties and formal attires, it all depends on the student body on what theme we'll have for the event and the choices would be released during lunch time, so that's all for now; class dismissed"she said as she stormed out of the room
It was finally our lunch break and we're walking towards the cafeteria when most of the students stopped their track and started looking at their phones.
"Let's go, its just probably the themes for the up-coming event" I called Haily and we continued to head towards the cafeteria where the rest was already waiting for us both.
We sat down on our spot and looked at the table that had food already. "Who ordered these for us?" I asked which West raised her hand. "You seem jolly" Haily commented after we thanked her for the treat. "Well, I just love the set of themes they are putting on the school page" she said with a hint of happiness in her eyes.
"So what are the themes?" Jane asked after taking her first bite on her deluxe sandwich. "There are three choices to choose from; the Victorian era, Bohemian Attire and Denim Apparel" West informed us as she showed us her phone. "I'm excited for any outcome but my bet is the Victorian era, well, the organisation will pay for us right?" she said as she whispered the last part.
We just went and ate to our hearts content and we didn't even noticed that the went fast and it's currently our last subject for the day and even the teacher is dismissing us; not to mention that our seating arrangements would be done tomorrow since our adviser had changed his mind and was still unable to attend due to his personal matters. I was about to stand from my seat when Ambrose and Dwight went to our seat and asked if we could stay behind to help them clean the room which we agreed on. The sooner we start, the earlier we'd finish.
"Orie lets go alre-oh I'm sorry, didn't know that you were busy" Danny apologised as she yelled outside the room. "Almost done, where's everyone?" I asked as I wipe the board in front with a wet towel. "They're by the gate already waiting for us" she responded as she twirl her finger around her hair by the entrance.
"You can go ahead, we'll just need to throw the trash bag and lock the room" Dwight informed us as he smiled at me. I bowed at him and thanked the two as I invited Haily to leave already after finishing the things we're doing. We got our bags and bid our farewell to Dwight and Ambrose.
"Those guys are cute you know, if Dwight weren't just our target, I'd definitely push you towards him" Danny teased which Haily went along with and chuckled. "We don't have time for those kind of things you know" I said with a poker face on. "You're such a 'killer joy' you know" Danny whined as we arrived at the gate and saw everyone waiting for us
Jane had a questioning look on her face so we just briefly explained what happened. We head inside the vehicle and as if on cue, Jameson's phone rang. He picked it out of his pocket and gestured us to hush down since Marille and Danny are arguing about something regarding leaves.
We're still on the road when the phone call ended and Jameson turned to us. "Was it the organization?" West asked the was sitting across him. He shook his head to deny the question and answered us instead that it was her mother. "Mom just asked me how's the progress" he said as he sighed and leaned on the back of his seat. "We might be getting carried away, let's focus on the task to settle things quickly" I said the shattered the silence in the vehicle.
"You're right, I'm sorry" we looked at West who was now bowing her head. "Hey, we are teens aren't we? Even I'm getting excited for the event this coming Friday" I said in a soothing tone to ease her up. She lifted her head and wiped the tears that's slowly escaping her eyes. Jane and Hypo immediately gave her a tight hug since she was in between the two.
"Lets focus on our goal while enjoying the little things alright?" Jane cheered us that we managed to plaster some genuine smiles on our faces. "I still believe that the means doesn't justify the end and vice versa, so who cares if we enjoy ourselves for a little right? Even Jameson here probably grew up training his ass right?" Marille joked that finally freed us from the awkward atmosphere that's been engulfing us.
I nodded my head as I was listening to what my friends are saying. "To be honest..." I began that caught their attention. "I would like the Bohemian theme" I continued that they laughed off. "We know pfft...hahaha" Haily said as she contains her laughter. "What's so funny?" I asked sorta chuckling because of them. "Nothing, you just don't sweat so it'll be a great flex" Hypo said as she let out a snicker.
