MACHIAVELLIAN
"I'm just a transfer student here, so..." I trailed off as I remove his hand that's cornering me at the side of my head. He was a tall guy with a set of onyx eyes that seems to be scanning my facial expression. "...if you won't mind, I need to be elsewhere" I finished what I was saying and pulled my hand from his tight grip. I was gonna walk away when he pulled my shoulder.
"Touch me again and you'll be dead the next time you do so" I threatened him before I felt his hand loosened its grip so I walked away from him. I rushed to the cafeteria and immediately went to ask the staff I first saw and good thing that they kept my phone on-hold for me. I sighed in relief as I head back to the auditorium with the other students that's gossiping. "Why do we always have an assembly sem-after-sem" The girl near to my left said in frustration while applying some face powder if I'm not mistaken.
"What took you so long?" West asked as soon as I arrived while the others were busy inspecting and chatting with one another. I was about to answer when I saw someone in my peripheral vision that someone occupied the seat beside me where we didn't realize that was still empty. "I ran into some pest" I answered and even heard a chuckle from my back since I was facing my friend. "Alright, seems like it'll begin any moment now" West said as she turns to face the stage at the center. "Pest huh?" I heard the guy next to me whispered.
I looked to him and confirmed my thoughts that it was the same guy that dragged me awhile ago. "What are you doing here?" I asked with a pestered voice. "Attending the orientation" He said casually that made me heave out a sigh out of annoyance. I didn't bother to talk to him because of his sudden change of behavior towards me.
Everyone went silent when the lights dimmed and all of the attention was at the center of the stage where the vice principal was standing while holding a microphone. "Good afternoon students, our agenda for today would only be a brief orientation in order for our new students to catch up quickly" It began and for the whole assembly was just the Do's and Don't's of the school and some other things that we must be aware of.
The orientation finally ended with a consumption of two and a half hours with some intermission numbers from the school's dance troupe and some musically inclined students. We're waiting for the students to go out since it's like a stampede at all exits right now and we don't wanna got caught up in it. I almost forgot that the guy next to me ain't leaving yet as well. When the situation got tranquil, we immediately stood from our seats and even the guy finally stood and left the auditorium first. We went straight for the main gate as we informed Mr. Jax in advance that we would got out early and said that he'd be there as soon as the assembly ended.
We weren't surprised when students are still gossiping about us that we're good-looking, questioning if we're really relatives of one another and the likes but we just shrugged it off. The guy wasn't in the scene anymore and we head inside the vehicle immediately, not minding the attention we're getting. We all let out sighs of frustration as soon as the vehicle motioned. "Gosh, I didn't realize that it would be this tiring with all of the attention we're getting" Danny groaned as she lay her head back. We stayed silent as we heard the noise coming from the intercom inside the vehicle. "Would you like to go out in the mall?" Jax asked as and I turned to the girls with their smiles and pleading eyes and Jameson who just chuckled at their reaction. I sighed in defeat and pressed the button to respond in agreement to Mr. Jax.
"Finally, we can at least enjoy things like these" Jane said as she checks her phone. "What are you doing?" Hypo asked while checking what Jane is browsing. "I'm looking for a place for us to eat" She said as she showed us her phone with a list of restaurants or fast-food chains at the mall we're going. "What about our expenses?" I asked and they looked sad for a moment before Jameson said that all of our expenses would be covered by the organization. "Nice!" Marille screamed in delight that made us laugh. "Well, at least they can do this for us" Haily commented and it didn't took that long as we arrived at the driveway in front of the mall since Jax would just come back for us later.
"So where should we go first? Haily asked as soon as we got up. We entered the mall and there are still glances that goes in our way. "So this is what it feels to be the center of attention" Hypo said in a joking tone that eased us. "Well, anyways, we should just get what we need like clothes, gadgets and just go get groceries this Saturday for our house" I informed them and they all nodded their heads. "Can we all split up? we do have what we want to get right?" Danny asked "The card is with Jameson so we just need to go together" I replied that made Jane realize the situation.
We decided to head to the department store first since they want to get some extra clothes. I went to Jameson to ask something. "Do you feel that too?" I asked as I was sensing an intense gaze as soon as we arrived at the mall. "Don't make it obvious, relax" He replied that confirmed my hunch. "Well, can I borrow some cash? I'll go take out our dinner for later" I said as he get his wallet and handed me some cash. "Thanks, I'll be back since I need to get some clothes as well" I said as I have the cash and went outside the department store.
"So it's after me huh?" I said to myself as I felt that the gaze I'm getting didn't vanished.
