In one of the classrooms of the UA campus was a man with short black hair and blue eyes wearing black body armor and a red coat with a name tag that reads Itsuru Tomioka, he stood at the front desk sorting out his papers while drinking a cup of coffee and the classroom door opens suddenly and in comes Tanjiro along with Rita in their school uniforms, a standard-issue uniform consisting of grey top blue stripes across the shoulder and wrist, a white button up with a red necktie and black pants, Tomioka checked his watch and saw that it was 7:45 in the morning, but before he could say anything the two introduced themselves and sat at a desk, "Aren't you a little early, class doesn't start for another thirty minutes." Rita yawned while Tanjiro answered, "I'm well aware of that, you see my family owns a bakery so I wake up at 3 AM to make the bread, my brother and I usually leave for school early, though it took me a bit to wake him up since he was up a bit longer the usual." Tomioka sighed "I didn't need the full story, just the reason why you're here early".
after the other students came in which included, Bakugo, Zenitsu, Jason, and Izuku, Tomioka got everyone's attention, "All right class, I am your teacher Tomioka Itsuru, now before we do anything I'm gonna do roll-call by name and I expect you to answer." Tomioka looked down at his papers and began.

Tomioka glanced up from the clipboard, "All right since everyone is here it's time for a test." Confusion fell upon the class "Wait a minute, What about the ceremony?" A student asked, Tomioka placed the clipboard on the desk and looked at the class "We're not going, because unlike conventional schools we teachers here at UA have a lot more freedom with what we do with our classes as long as we take responsibility, besides I'm doing a colleague a favor, now go change into your P.E uniforms and meet me outside.".
In the boy's locker room, Rita seemed tense, like how he was tense before the entrance exams "Hey Rita, are you ok?" Tanjiro was worried but when Rita looked at him he had a full grey beard, "Yeah I'm fine, just a little ecstatic is all, I mean our teacher is Tomioka of the Hashira!" Tanjiro heard of the hero team before, the Hashira were a team of eight heroes that mostly operated at night, yet they were the second most popular hero team in Japan, mostly because of the member that operated in daylight the most, The Flame Hero: Rengoku, "Oh by the way you got a little" Tanjiro motioned to his chin, Soon the beard disappeared and the two went to put on the P.E uniforms, which were blue with hints of red and white.
The class stood in a group on the track field, "Now listen here, this will be a physical test but unlike at your previous schools there's a couple of differences, first is that you are allowed to use your quirk, second is that whoever performs the worst will be expelled." The entire class was stunned, "Wait a minute expelled, but it's the first day, it's not fair!" one of the students exclaimed, Tomioka gave an Icy glare "not Fair, you think that's not fair, try saying that to natural disasters or criminals, they don't care about what's fair or not, that's why there are hero's, because when unfair things happen it's our job to save as many civilians as possible while minimizing damage, compared to all that expelling you doesn't seem so bad.".
Tomioka's tone was harsh and stern, he soon cleared his throat "Now Tanjiro, what is the furthest you have thrown in middle school." Tanjiro thought about it "About 70.8 meters, give or take a meter." Tomioka motioned Tanjiro to come closer, he handed Tanjiro a softball with sensors around its circumference, he pointed at a circle on the ground in the field, "Throw the ball as far as you can while using your quirk but you have to stay in the circle." Tanjiro stepped into the circle, feeling a little nervous he thought about how he should use his quirk 'should I use my fire since the sun it out or should I not risk destroying the ball and use water?' "There's no need to worry about the ball, it's more durable then it looks." Tanjiro looked at Tomioka and nodded.
as he prepared to throw the ball, he used Total Concentration Breathing to enhance his arm before throwing the ball as hard as he can, immediately Tanjiro aimed a open palm at the ball and his irises turned from red to a oceanic blue, the ball was then sealed inside a water bubble and flew further and further until the bubble suddenly melted, about 700.9 meters away which Tomioka read on a small device, which he then showed the screen to the entire class "This test is to see test how you use your quirk in different physical situations, if your fail then you have no place here."
