Dunamis had instantly coiled around Matt as he flipped out. He really didn't like snakes, even if the one around him was far more intelligent than the ones from their home world. It was more about how they moved than how they looked, at least to Matt.
"Ren! I'm trying not to stab it.. But the tightening thing he's doing is making me feel stabby!" Matt joked with a high pitch to his voice.
It was his defense mechanism for Matt; uncomfortable? Joke about it. Angry? Joke about it at the antagonist's expense. That last one had gotten him into a few fights over the years, but Matt usually came out on top.
As he tried his best to remain calm, Serenity swam over, and petted the frightened snake. She cooed to him, and told him that it would be alright now. Responding to her kindness; Dunamis left Matt, to his great relief, and wrapped himself around Serenity.
