While Serenity cried, Levi dug a hole large enough to put Oceanus and Tethys' remains in. It wasn't like she'd known them long, but the help that they'd given her and Matt had literally saved their lives. Plus, that had been the first time she'd seen something like that before.
Watching people die in the Aquarian World was horrible in many ways, but seeing a friend's tortured body showed her a level of malevolence that Serenity hadn't imagined. While Matt calmed her down, Draxzel took the bodies one at a time over to the grave. As he carried Tethys passed Selena, she stopped him.
"Hang on, there's something on the side of her neck by her dress strap," she said as she reached out, and pulled an odd metal barb-looking thing from her neck.
