Chapter 29 - What of her loyalty to her original master?

I had been relaxing in the shade.

The suns' rays felt all well and good but the fact is, I seem to be more fish still.

I sighed, this is an annoyance.

In the end, I felt quite happy by the fact that I still felt the warmness of the sun even though I thought all the moisture I had painstakingly accumulated would be sucked away from the heat of the suns.

Today I was dressed in a wave swing midi skirt with small embroidered flowers and a sleeveless loose shirt, my shoes simple sandals to give them some air--that had been my excuse but it was so that I could better absorb the moisture in the air.

I had been carefully assessing my power when I scented that annoying female arrived.

From what I saw, it seems that I would have to rank up five levels to be able to absorb the moisture around me.

This in itself is no issue… except that it would take maybe an entire year including assistance. So for a year, I had to continue struggling.

So because I was annoyed it was hard to control my aura, the first rank was easy. Subsequently, I had been close to it, needing merely only seven levels. The next rank consisted of over thirty and after that forty with sub-levels plus the two ranks left. So, with my careful calculations, I would need an entire year.

Right now I am a lowly rank fifty-four.

Sigh, being weak is a sad thing.

Even though I had read a bit on rank, my understanding is still pretty vague, I mean all land-dwellers in my eyes are weak, even those who flew in the sky.

The ranks all depend on the innate talent, species and bloodline. With that point, it can be understood why humans even after they all had transmigrated to another world millions of light-years away, they in the end are still weak. That brings those who had brought these humans here up, I narrowed my eyes in thought, the servant Quai Victoria temporarily forgotten.

Those beings could be deemed as powerful, after all, travelling for so long as immortals they must have also met some trials enabling them to gain strength in the process at least. But even if I admitted it to a being who had been ranked--like this world's ranking level system on a level they could never comprehend.

I have to admit they still meant nothing in my eyes, after all, my rank was close to a million before I had taken over this body, abandoning my original.

So when they ranked the beings here with the consideration of the three: innate talent, species and bloodline. It could be either of the three with a variable in there at any given time. In my eyes having talent is a good thing because then the user/owner has the opportunity to awaken a powerful innate power. The bloodline is also another good thing as well, because the power is simply passed on from parent to child but this is not always a hundred percent.

Species are no different from the above but some species awaken a dormant gene enabling them to have immortality once they have passed the threshold of maturity.

The year in this world is around five times the length of the earth which makes many of the species that dwell within compared to earth seem much more mature for their age, the downside to this that the maturity rate is slow making reproduction… halved. That is why concubines came into play, the females may be less than males by every one female five males but the gap was not that obvious though the gap had been worse around five thousand years ago; rising as high as for every one female thirty males.

When I dug into it, this had been because of a curse placed when the mad Queen had destroyed earth.

Now this female was worthy of being called powerful, she had also been the result of Gaia's death.

Sigh, and mine too I suppose.

Either way, the humans in this world have longer life spans, within the 'ranked dominant' species being the weakest age-wise all being humans.

That is why humans had sought to mix with the other immortal-like species to then expand their life at first but it had only been granted to the ruling families and in some cases high ranking nobles. Beyond that, humans had learned thanks to the power of the world core showing the humans pity, they had been granted enough power once reaching a certain rank can extend their life until they gained maturity.

Now as a human I am also mortal right?

In fact, with me feeling so weak I felt that being mortal is disgusting!

Yet to live, I should show gratitude and there is also my thigh to hug, I could scent that he will be powerful.

Sitting up straight I looked at the servant Quai Victoria, such an annoying human.

"Grandmother has sent a servant already. I have found her pleasing to the eyes. why accept another?"

This servant was not too weak, so I should show her some mercy at least by giving her a boon.

Still, I will make her work for it because she is simply too annoying!

"My sister has been taught well, an--young miss, just a week,"

The servant begged, falling on her knees.

I raised turned my gaze to look down on this human, such servitude, her persistence for her sister is praiseworthy but.

What of her loyalty to her original master?
