Ability Index (Darey)
Dwarf Compression: A Special Ability that compresses the mass of any energy, reducing the size but increasing the potency. It causes a spin and the smaller the size, the bigger the explosion when it is undone.
YEAR: 2161
LOCATION: Beginner's Arena, Beginner Region, Secondary Academic Grounds, Orion Inner Zone.
"How dare you..." Theo said as he opened his eyes and glared at Darey.
His eyes shone gold, and Darey could feel the energy of his Special Ability spreading throughout his body.
"So your Ability is manifesting already..." Darey said.
"Who are you?" Theo said in irritation.
Darey was silent.
"No, I don't need to know who you are... Since this will be the end of you..." Theo said with a tone of finality, readying himself to strike.
"Just as I thought. You're not Theo... Rather, you're another personality residing within him aren't you?" Darey said to the stranger before him.
Now it was Theo's turn to be silent.
"Theo has a special case of Dissociative Identity Disorder. He has split personalities within him. You're an alternate personality of him, aren't you?" Darey asked.
"That's enough" Theo's alternate responded.
Suddenly a pressure formed in the vicinity. Darey couldn't explain this reaction, but he was certain it had to do with Theo's special Ability. He could probably obtain it's name and nature if he conversed with this Theo, but he doubted he would respond.
Darey had realized that the reason he couldn't detect any Special Ability from Theo was because he was in an UnAwakened state. This meant that on a cellular level he was just like any other person. But when he switched personalities, he became an Awakened.
"What a bizarre situation." Darey thought to himself.
Darey had never seen or heard of such a thing before, but it wasn't unreasonable. In theory it was possible. All he needed to do was forcefully shut down Theo's nervous processes and make the other one take over. That was why he used NERVE CORROSION.
Turns out he was right, there was indeed another Theo within him which possessed the Special Abilities. This explained why Theo was in Orion when he had no memory of having or using any Special Ability. When one personality is active, the other is inactive. This means the Theo he knew was currently asleep, as good as nonexistent as of the moment.
Darey was happy he was right, but the matter before him gave rise to more questions. Did this mean that Theo could, in theory, become Awakened again? Would he possess another Special Ability different from this personality? Darey considered the possibility. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to think about such matters.
"I'll end this quickly" Theo said, raising his hands toward Darey's direction.
Suddenly his hands glowed with golden color, and before Darey could react, he could feel himself being pulled toward Theo
Darry tried dashing back, but the attraction greatly overpowered him that Darey kept being pulled toward him, as though his entire body was enveloped in a strange material and Theo was pulling it.
"Don't underestimate me" Darey said to Theo, who looked cocky at this sight.
Darey used his passive strengthening Ability and rooted himself on the ground, resisting the attraction to Theo.
"Useless" Theo said with a smile.
He slowly twisted his hand which he had stretched toward Darey, and before Darey knew it his entire body was dragged to Theo at an even greater speed.
Darey was already in front of Theo, a few inches distanced them. Darey smiled.
"So your Special Ability is attraction, similar to magnetism. But you shouldn't have brought me to you, now I can easily take you down." Darey retorted, willingly allowing his body to be pulled by Theo's Special Ability and readying to launch an attack as he got closer.
"Fool" Theo said with a malevolent smile.
Theo dropped his hand which he had raised earlier and raised the second one in its stead, just as Darey was about to land a solid hit on his face. He felt a form of resistance, his punch wasn't going through...
Darry's face exhibited shock, but before he could react, he felt the opposite of what had been happening to him... Repulsion!
Like a gust of wind, only a hundred times stronger, at least, Darey felt a strong push which sent him flying from Theo, back to where he as coming from.
Due to the velocity which had built up from him being attracted to Theo, when the opposite took place, the amount of damage it caused due to the pressure and speed was greater than usual.
Darey spat blood from his mouth, and he felt sore, especially in his stomach.
"So you don't just attract, you also repel... What a bothersome Ability" Darey retorted, wincing a bit in pain.
"Who said you could speak?" Theo said, raising his left hand again, dragging Darey to him.
Darey yelped as he it caught in the force which he wouldn't resist. This time it was even faster than before. Within a few seconds Darey was already in front of him, and Theo has readied his second hand. This sent Darey flying with far greater force than the previous one.
Darry's body crashed into the wall, causing his body to suffer even more damage. He coughed and gasped out. He fell to the ground, on all fours and wheezed as he breathed hard.
He wasn't expecting Theo's other personality to be this aggressive. Usually an alternate personality would be entirely different from the main. One could say the personalities would be polar opposites. Since Theo was a crybaby and was weak willed, it made sense that his other personality would be more assertive and aggressive, but even this was too much.
And what was with the hubris? The arrogance of this personality was disturbing. The way he looked at Darey as something inferior to him. Darey was unsure whether he could even reason with him, talk-less of convincing him to join him on his mission.
Darey had to admit though, he was powerful. He could attract his target with his left hand, and repel with his right hand. Darey was sure there as more to his abilities, however, the type of person he was up against wouldn't want to expose his cards to someone like him.
If Darey was going try to converse with him and know the full extent of his powers, he only had one option.
"I'll have to respond to him in the language he understands best" Darey thought to himself, as he remained kneeled on the ground, using his hands to support his body.
"Get up... We're just getting started." Theo said, his eyes glowing gold and his hands glowing as well, ready for the next attack.
"How troublesome..." Darey gulped
