When I woke up, I heard screaming. It was like a war was going on. I tried to sit up, but it's kind of hard to do so with your legs sticking up in the air. I yawned and looked around. Poth was sleeping on Dew's shoulder, and Dew was sleeping on Poth's head. I wanted to take a picture, but I could only take a mental one.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Poth and Dew immediately woke up. It was my father, Michael, and my eldest sister Sam. My father shouted, "Why are you even here!? You're not allowed to visit!" Michael shouted back, "Why not!?" Then Sam shouted, "Because you're not family, jerk!" My mother wasn't there, but I heard her shout, "Let me go! I'm going to beat this bastard into a pulp!"
Dew shouted, "Will you be quiet!? He just woke up!" Everyone stopped talking, and I raised my hand said, "Uh... I'm awake." Michael burst inside and shouted, "You said you were going to be fine! Your legs are broken! That's not fine!" Tears were streaming down his face. His cheeks were red, and his eyes were puffy.
I said, "I'm sorry. I didn't think this would happen." He mumbled, "You better be sorry." My father grabbed Michael by the collar and dragged him out of the room. Sam came in and said, "He found out about what happened to you. He immediately came here and tried to get in, but our mother stopped him. Then he called her a himbo. That's why she's mad. A security officer had to come and hold her down."
I said, "He's like that. Always worried because he's been doing stuff for me left and right. We only met two days ago, and here he is. Worrying about me." Sam said, "You've made a good friend. I'm going to go now. Mating stuff." I asked her, "Are you the Queen now?" She nodded and left. Then Dew said, "I definitely don't want to be King now."
I chuckled and then I stared at the ceiling. Poth asked me, "I've been wondering about this for a while. What is your and Michael's relationship? You seem to worry about him a lot too." I wasn't ready for this question, and they weren't ready for the truth. I said, "We're just friends. Good friends." Dew said, "Good. If you two ended up being mates or something, that would cause major problems."
Poth said, "He's right. Who knows what'll happen." That gave me my answer. I can't tell them. I can't tell anyone because the world knows my name. I sighed and asked them, "So what's the situation with the Power-Woods?" Dew said, "Oh yeah... there were four who had gone rogue when the King requested the game. They, of course, were punished."
Dew was about to say something, but then he looked down, and Poth said, "Geez Dew. Anyway, The King of the Power-Woods wants to choose our King since we haven't made a decision yet." I scoffed at his answer and said, "We've been coming to a lot of indecisions lately. That's not okay, especially for a family as big as ours."
Dew said, "That's only because we haven't chosen the King yet, and Sam ended up being the queen." I said, "Okay. Last question. For how long was I out?" Poth said, "For a day." Dew mumbled, "Liar." Poth said, "Okay okay... you've been knocked out for two days." Dew punched Poth in the gut, and said, "You've been asleep for a week for a full recovery."
I sighed and said, "No wonder he's worried." The doctor came in and said, "Okay. You're getting discharged today, but you can't be running around. Wait about a week, and if your legs still hurt after running, come check in with me again." I said, "Okay. Thanks..." He shooed Dew and Poth out of the room and started doing things with my legs.
I couldn't see because my head was forced to look at the ceiling. My legs were set down on the bed, and I was able to sit up. The doctor walked out of the room, and I ran my fingers down my bandaged legs. I sighed and said, "I can't even dream of beating anyone in my family. Not even one of the elders." Then what happened a week ago came to mind.
I started to feel sick, so I shook my head, and decided to think about something else.
