"I'm sorry, Ms. Brigante pero hindi ka na pwedeng mag-apply sa ibang company ngayon. Your name was already included in the University President's list of recommended students who will have their internships at their designated companies. Nandito pala 'yong details ng company kung saan ka maaassigned next month."
With still confused mind, I took that folder from Professor Mandy.
I came here in her office to submit my application for DFCS company in a hope to work with Cameron del Fuero but to my utter surprise, and balitang ito ang bumungad sa'kin rito.
With fumbling hands, binuksan ko na agad ang folder na'yon, curious to know kung saang company ako maaassign next month.
NAME: SUZANE OLIR BRIGANTE
ASSIGNED COMPANY: MONTERO HOTEL & GROUP OF COMPANIES...
Shit!
Just reading that company's name, I felt like I wanted to vanish from Earth now and just live in planet Mars forever para hindi ko na makita pa uli ito.
After that kiss last Saturday night, halos hindi na'ko lubayan ng ala-alang 'yon. With it keep appearing in my mind and even in my dreams. Gods!..
At gusto ko na talagang iwasan ito ngayon but here it was. Of all companies na pwede kong pasukan! Why does it have to his company???
Oh God. I felt like I'm going to have a headache dahil lang dito. I'm certain na may ginawa na naman dito ang Liam na'yon!
"Something wrong about it, Ms. Brigante?"
I quickly put up a face when she suddenly queried that, siguro napansin nito ang reaksyon ng mukha ko.
"No. Nothing's wrong, Professor but..."
"But what?" Usisa nito while waiting for me to continue.
"Gusto ko lang sanang itanong if I can still apply for another company---"
"No. You can't, Ms. Brigante. The president specifically ordered na hindi na pwede so we can really do nothing about it. Bakit? Hindi mo ba gusto ang assigned company mo? I'm certain the president won't just recommend his students sa maliliit lang na company so there's really nothing to complain about it."
Oh yes. Sana nga sa maliit na kompanya nalang talaga ako papasok kaysa sa kompanya ng taong 'yon!
God knows how much I wanted to shout my complain now but having no choice, sumang-ayon na lamang ako rito saka nagpaalam ng umalis. Walking towards the exit of the campus with heavy steps and with heavy feelings.
Yes. This is just a month-long internship but how could I possibly avoid him there kung makikita ko naman ito palagi sa trabaho? How could I live----
"What's with that long face now?"
That voice caused me to look up and I suddenly halted with my steps when I was greeted with Klent's smiling face. Looking so fresh in his uniform and with his still wet hair which I think he had brushed it with his hand a few times dahil medyo magulo ito ngayon.
And seeing him here now, I couldn't help but remember my bold act last Saturday night.
Oh yeah. Isa pa 'to. Dapat hindi ko nalang ito hinalikan nang gabing 'yon. Hindi na sana madadagdagan pa ang kahihiyan na nararamdaman ko ngayon.
I quickly straightened up on my feet and faced him while putting up a straight face. It'd be good if I'll just petend unaffected with that kiss now.
"Hi. Ah wala, Klent. Hindi ko lang kasi nagustuhan kung saang company ako papasok next month for my internship eh. I didn't know na tapos na pala akong irecommend ng university President..." Tugon ko na lang rito as I resumed my walk, sumunod naman agad ito sa'kin while intently listening to me.
"Gusto ko pa naman sanang sa DFCS pumasok but unlucky me, sa ibang company ang bagsak ko."
"Bakit? Saang company ka ba nila inilagay?"
I blew out a loud disappointed sigh when he asked that. Being reminded with it.
"Montero Hotel & Group of Companies..."
"That's one of the top hotel companies here and even abroad! Ang swerte mo dahil nakapasok ka diyan.." masayang komento nito which really contradicts my own opinion.
Dahil kamalasan ang pagkakapasok ko sa kompanya ng taong 'yon!
"Why? Don't you like that company? Magandang experience din 'yon kung doon ka magtatrabaho." Dagdag pa nito habang malapit na kami sa may exit gate.
At kung hindi ko lang sana kilala kung sino ang tarantadong may-ari nito, then I would've think the same as him now.
"Yes. Maganda nga 'yon.." sang-ayon ko nalang rito while giving him a forced smile.
"Ah by the way, Suzy.. about the other night.."
That made me halted with my steps again the moment he'd brought up that night again.
Oh now, Face this humiliation as well, idiot!
With a grimace, I slowly turned to his way and I sent him a guilty smile when I was greeted with his wide grin.
"I want to thank you again dahil sumama ka sa'min, especially that kiss."
Now my smile at him became a grimace. Talaga bang kailangan niya pa talagang ungkatin 'yon?
"No. Wala 'yon, Klent. Ginawa ko lang 'yon kasi gusto ko."
The moment I uttered that answer, mas lalo pang lumaki ang ngiti nito ngayon. Pero gusto ko namang batukan ang sarili ko ngayon dahil sa katabilan ng dila ko. Gusto ko talaga??!!
"Well, if that's the case. Why don't we have a date then?"
That got me frowned at him when he suddenly popped that question.
"A date?"
"Ahuh.. A date. May family dinner date kami next week sa bahay and I want you to come with me. Para makilala ka naman ng pamilya ko."
My mouth was literally hanging agape right now dahil sa mga sinabi niyang 'yon.
"F-Family dinner?"
"Hmm.." he confirmed with a nod.
And of all places na pagdadalhan niya sa'kin, sa bahay pa talaga nito! At ba't parang ang bilis naman yata?
"A-Are you even sure about this? That's your family dinner, Klent kaya nakakahiya naman yata kung sasali pa'ko. Baka magmukha pa'kong gatecrasher nyan."
"No, no. You won't be. Everyone from the family could bring anyone with them in that occasion so it will be fine to bring you with me." He reassured.
Of course to convince me na sumama rito but heck! Hindi pa nga niya'ko girlfriend, ipapakilala na niya ako sa parents niya? Something's really not right here and that's confusing me now.
"Ah Klent, I think..."
"You think what?"
I bit my lower lip as I stared at his expectant eyes. I know this could be our chance to get to know each other more pero mukhang hindi ko pa lang talaga kayang magpakilala sa family nito dahil----
"What's going on here?"
That deep voice caused our heads snapped to that intruder. And I cursed out a breath when I was greeted with some jerk again na ngayo'y papalapit na'rin sa gawi namin.
Oh God! Here comes this playboy again! Ano na naman kayang ginagawa niya rito? Don't tell me he just came out from his business here again at papaalis na rin ito?
"Montero---"
I turned to Klent when he suddenly gasped out in surprise, recognition was visible in his face.
"You are the infamous William Montero of Montero Hotel right?" Hangang-hanga nito tanong pagkalapit nito sa'min.
The bastard just answered it with raised of his brow but he nodded anyway. Causing Klent's face to lit up in gladness.
"Sinasabi ko na nga ba. Suzy, this is the same Montero na may-ari ng kompanyang pagtatrabahuan mo next month!" He exclaimed.
oh yes. Alam na alam ko 'yon.
"By the way I'm Klent Andrada from Andrada Real Estates. I'm one of your fan. Nice to meet you, Mr. Montero." He introduced sabay lahad ng kamay nito sa bagong dating.
"Well, I guess it's a pleasure to finally know you then." He answered as he shook his hand before he glanced at me with a knowing look in his eyes.
And it didn't get out of my notice the small smirk peeking through the side of his mouth right now. Na para bang may bagay itong nalaman ngayon sa kausap nito and it must be kept as a secret.
"Akala ko mga babae lang ang mga fans ko, I didn't know a man like you would be my fan as well."
"Of course, you're always in the news and you're one of the top hotelier in the world so how could I not be?" Klent cheerfully answered as if he was really talking to some celebrity.
Well, with him looking so dashing in his navy suit right now, mukha ngang celebrity ito but I don't have time to be their audience here dahil may trabaho pa'ko. And knowing na papaalis na rin ito ngayon dito, I better go now before he could even confront me about that heated kiss we shared the other night.
"Klent, I think mauuna nalang ako sa'yo. Malapit na'kong ma-late sa trabaho ko. Kita nalang tayo bukas. Bye!"
"But---"
Before Klent could even stop me, mabilis na'kong tumakbo palabas ng gate at sa gilid ng daan papunta sa trabaho ko--to La Café Mosses.
Running like a bunch of Liam's dog were on my heels.

LIAM'S POV
I smirked just seeing her running away from here now. Halatang nagmamadali itong makatakas rito and I know so well why was that.
After that kiss the other night, kung hindi ko lang sana napigilan ang sarili ko, something more exciting could've happened that night.
Good thing she had locked up herself in her apartment after that dahil 'yon na sana ang simula ng kasunduan namin. She will be left with no choice but to accept my offer kapag may nangyari sana sa'min ng gabing 'yon.
But nevermind. May maraming next time pa naman. And I'll make sure she can't get away from me the next time I asked her again.
"Ano palang ginagawa mo rito? Are you here for business?"
I groaned when that incessant queries pulled me out of my thoughts. I turned to him and just nodded at him.
"Yes. At katatapos ko lang at maiwan na muna kita rito. I still have business meeting to attend to." I lied while glancing down at my wristwatch. Wanted to escape from this guy dahil nagsisimula na'kong mainis sa weirdong 'to.
"Oh ganun ba. Then I guess I have to let you go now. Nice to meet you again."
I just nodded at him saka umalis na'ko and quickly headed to my car at the parking lot nearby.
Now that I've finally meet and even talked to that pretty boy, wala na'kong dapat ipag-alala rito. Dahil sa kilos na pinapakita nito kanina, now I'm certain with one thing.
He wasn't really a threat to me.
At that thought, I smirked as I get into my car.
Oh yes. Wala naman talaga... Dahil sa susunod na mga araw, she'll be working with me as an intern. And good thing Mr. Blaire instantly accepted my offer to let some of his students have their internships in my company.kaya naman wala na talaga tong kawala sa'kin ngayon.
With a triumphant smile, I started the engine and drove off straight to La Café Mosses where my target waited for my dear presence.

"Good day sir. Nakapili na po ba kayo ng oorderin nyo?"
I looked up from the menu when a woman's voice asked that. And I groaned in disapproval when it wasn't Suzy again.
Sighing out, ibinaba ko na lamang ang menu sa mesa.
"Where's Suzane? Siya ang pinapunta ko rito kaya bakit hindi siya ang nandito ngayon?"
"I'm sorry sir pero may deliveries pa po kasi siya ngayon sir and we're afraid na hindi po siya ang makakaasikaso sainyo ngayon rito." Mahinahong tugon nito while giving me an apologetic smile.
At kahit na naiinis na'ko ngayon rito, I stopped myself to say something that I'd just regret later.
"Then when do you think matatapos ang deliveries na ginagawa niya?"
"Maybe an hour or so, nandito na siya----"
"What??"
Napakagat agad ito ng pang-ibabang labi nito when I suddenly snapped that, causing the other customers to throw us an interesting look.
I couldn't help but heaved up an exasperated breath before I grudgingly picked up the menu list again.
I know this is childish of me to come here and demand them to bring that woman here but the thought na kanina pa'ko naghihintay rito at wala pa rin ito, hindi ko lang maiwasang maisip na parang sinasadya nila ito. And Suzy could be the one telling them to do that dahil hindi niya gustong pumunta rito. And she better be prepared for this later!
"I'll go for black coffee. Yan lang muna ngayon." Inis na saad ko na lamang rito.
Agad naman itong tumango before she left.
So Suzy was really serious about avoiding me now. Huh! As if----
"Liam?"
I stiffened in my seat when I suddenly heard that woman's voice from behind me.
That fucking voice of a tigress!
At the thought of seeing her here, napapalunok nalang ako bigla ng laway ko.
I should've just chosen the seat at the very corner of this cafe nang hindi niya'ko agad namataan rito!
"Oh sinasabi ko na nga ba. It was the great playboy, Liam Montero."
When she exclaimed that beside me, I blew out a sigh of resignation before I turned to face her while putting up a wide fake smile.
"Well, Samantha! Such a pleasure to see you here!" Bungad ko na rito sabay tayo.
And just seeing her eyes narrowing at me in suspicion, mas nilakihan ko pa lalo ang ngiti ko rito. Dahil tiyak patay ako rito kapag nalaman niya kung sino ang sadya ko rito
"Ano palang ginagawa mo rito? Are you here for your case? Or are you here---"
"I'm here for Suzy. Kukumustahin ko lang siya kung wala bang gagong umaali-aligid sa kanya ngayon na kailangan kong matiktikan."
That caused me to swallow hard again.
That blunt words was definitely a threat for me! Dahil ayaw na ayaw nitong pinopormahan ko ang babaeng 'yon!
And knowing kung anong pwede niyang gawin sa'kin pag nagkataon, kailangan ko ng makaalis agad rito bago pa'ko mabaril ng tigreng ito. Ora mismo!
"Oh? Ganun ba? I didn't know she's working here." I answered with a grin while putting up an innocent face.
"I was here for business anyway. Katatapos ko lang ngayon-ngayon lang. And I was just about to leave now. Ayoko sanang iwan ka rito, Samantha pero may meeting pa kasi ako so I have to go now. Bye Sam!" Paalam ko na rito before I quickly picked up my suit jacket at my seat saka akma na sanang tatakbo sa lugar na'yon to save my future generation.
"Hello, sir. Nandito na pala 'yong order niyong coffee. Medyo matatagalan pa po pala si Su----"
"AHERMM! AHERMM!!! It was fine, miss. It was fine!" Putol ko na agad rito with a fake asthmatic clearing of my throat before she could even pronounce Suzy's first name! Damn it! Causing Samantha's brow to shot up in suspicion.
Goodness with this woman!! Gusto niya pa talaga akong ibuko rito!!
"It was really fine, Miss. At sa'yo nalang ang coffee na'yan, Sam and wait." Dali-dali na'kong humugot ng ilang bills sa wallet ko and placed it on the table.
"Here's some bills for my payment at sa iba pang gusto mong orderin rito, Sam. Kainin mo na lahat ng gusto mong kainin rito ngayon. Libre ko lahat! I've got to go now!" And then without even letting her utter a response, nagmamadali na'kong umalis sa lugar na'yon. Palayo sa tigreng babaeng 'yon.
Nagagawa nga niyang paikutin ang gagong Cameron del Fuero na 'yon sa mga kamay niya kaya ayokong malaman kung ano pang kaya nitong gawin sa'kin kapag nalaman niya ang kalokohang ginagawa ko kay Suzy.
".....you'll really be dead once Ms. Javier hear about it.."
When Cameron's words at the club echoed through my head, sumakay na'ko agad sa sasakyan ko and then hastily drove off from there.
Because of course, Cameron really meant that dahil alam na alam nito kung anong kayang gawin ng babaeng 'yon sa'kin 'pag nagkataon.
