"Kairan: Surviving in the Modern World" CHAPTER 13
I don't know how far the University is from the house but this ride is taking too long! The seat is soft and comfortable but my legs and butt are starting to hurt. Why does it needs to be this far? It looks like they don't want me to get close at them.
"Chiki? How far is that University? My butt hurts"
I said and it was such a relief that I'm only with Sarah and Chiki. I don't need to play any role, I can just be the real me.
"Not too far from here, please bare a little bit more" – Chiki
She said but her eyes fixed on the road, I didn't respond anymore I just looked outside enjoying the moving view from the car. I see some people walking, some of them look like couples and some are families, but there is a guy walking with a gloomy face, he has eye glasses, pale gold hair and gray eyes. But the car was too fast and I wasn't able to look at him properly. That guy is indeed handsome but not my type. I can also feel that there is something more than that gloomy face of his.
"My lady" --Sarah
I look at Sarah but what is in front of us catches my attention. Finally we're here, Athena University. Sarah quickly gets out of the car and opens the door for me, at last I can stretch my butt and legs out. I think the four and half hours of sitting in the car is not a waste.
"We should get inside" – Chiki
She said and walked first to guide me. From the entrance I can see a number of buildings and a wide grass field in the center. We head to the east building and some students are staring at me while the others are glaring. This is the first time for me to meet many people all at once and I don't know to react on this situation so I stay my usual straight face, but when I heard someone says that—
"Hey dude! Look at this! There is nice and beautiful lady"
I felt embarrassed and mad at the same time. How could they say such vulgar words in front of many people that can definitely hear them?
"My lady please stay calm, besides men is always men" – Sarah
I sigh and focus on where we are going, we reach the building and go to the second floor. Sarah opened the door and Chiki took the bag that I was carrying and headed inside.
I immediately notice the man with black hair and red eyes that is standing in front of me, after recognizing my face he bowed down putting his right hand is on his left chest. He starts to walk and stop in front of me and act as if he's asking for my hand. But the time I gave my hand to him and he held it Kairen's memories rushing before my eyes as if I really experience those things as if I am the real Kairen, the pain, sorrow, loneliness I can feel it, now I understand why the real Kairen is begging for some attention. The pain, darkness and emptiness that suffocate me before, I can feel it again.
Without realizing I start to cry but some pair of hands wipes the tears flowing on my cheeks.
"I'm sorry if I took two months to see you again"
That sweet gentle voice, I can't be mistaken! It was Silvestre's voice.
"You? Is that you Silvestre?!"
I grab his shoulders and analyze if he is the real Silvestre. Looking at him, he did change his hair but the face is still the same and before I forgot I slapped him on his left cheek. He rubs the cheek where I slap him and looks at me with a confused face.
"That is for keep me waiting for long time without any word"
I said and crossed my arms.
"Princess you should stop calling me Silvestre from now on."
He said, still rubbing his cheeks that turned slightly red.
"Why? That's your name right? And also I'm curious how you change your hair color?"
"In this world they already invented ways to change the hair color and it's called hair dye and for eyes too, it called contact lens and it doesn't need any magic or magic artifact"
He said and snapped his fingers then his hair and changed into silver again.
"But I use magic to change mine"
He said and starts to fix his hair when he suddenly speak--
"Princess, I am Silvestre 'silver' Ryuuya, I promise and giving my loyalty to you milady and will never dared to betray you no matter what"
He said while staring straight into my eyes.
"Now that we are done we should head outside I'm sure that Chiki and Sarah is worried about you"
He said and opened the door for us, I can tell by their face that they are worried about me but after seeing the door wide open and we both heading outside they both sigh of relief and start glaring at Silvestre.
Sarah immediately checked me to see if I was hurt or something while Chiki went straight where Silvestre was standing and grabbed his collar. Did they know each other?
"HEY! Mr. Silver! You didn't do any weird things to milady right?" – Chiki
"How would I dare to do such a weird thing to our milady? Miss Wednesday?" – Silvestre
Did I hear it right?
"Chiki? Did you just call him Silver?"
I ask and with a big question mark.
"Yes milady, perhaps this person didn't introduce himself to you?" – Chiki
I nod as an answer. Chiki immediately slapped him on the same spot where I slapped him.
"I TOLD YOU TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF RIGHT?!" – Chiki
"But I already thought who I was when she entered the room!" – Silver
"I just tell her that I am going to introduce her to someone that I know, but I didn't think that you're too dumb to not identify yourself!" – Chiki
"Are you crazy? Telling milady to meet someone that she didn't know? How dare you?!" – Silver
"What?! I did that for you to introduce yourself in a romantic way! Like 'milady I am Silver Ryuuya I will be your knight and shining armor" – Chiki
Did I see it? Did Silvestre really blush for a second on what Chiki said? But I can't hold my laughter at all seeing these two having a fight because of me makes me overjoyed. They both stop arguing after seeing me laughing and to mention this situation is too awkward for me, again they stare at me as if I am not in my usual self so I just smile at them.
I walk first leading the path where the stairs are.
"What are you doing? Are we not going to get my schedule? Let's finish that argue at home"
They run to match my speed and they argue again while walking. Now that we are outside of the building, a girl is staring at Silvestre who is busy having a debate with Sarah and Chiki. I looked at him and I noticed that his hair is black again.
We walk until we reach the lobby where I will get the schedule for the semester, then Silvestre stands next to me as if he's waiting for something. I didn't bother to ask why and focused on answering what the lady at the counter was asking me. After a few questions she handed me a hand book. I turn my way and look around to find where Sarah is, when I see Silvestre in the counter too.
I walked toward him and grabbed his clothes like a kid and stared at what he was doing.
"Are you going to study here?"
I asked him in a low voice and acted like I wanted to whisper something so he leaned towards me.
"I think demigods like you don't need to study at all"
And again he blushed slightly for a few seconds and looked away from me.
"I have personal reasons"
He said and took the hand book that is the same as mine. He left me there without saying anything so I followed him. I run so that I can catch up to him and grab his clothes.
"Wait! You're walking too fast!"
He stopped but never tried to show his face to me. I let go of his clothes and stood beside him. I try to take a glance to see his face but he's trying his best to hide it. I gave up and started to walk first, I could feel his presence behind me, not too far I could see Sarah waving her hands and I ran toward her.
It might sound childish but I am thankful that I can act on myself here even just for a while, and since the class will start in two days I need to be cautious of people around me.
