"The Committee's unanimous recommendation on Nuclear Fusion is to keep it in-house. The main fuel for fusion reactors which are the Hydrogen isotopes, Tritium and Deuterium, aren't exactly common nor cheap. Tritium is especially rare with only a few tens of kilograms of it believe to be available on the entire planet. The cost of the fuel alone is cost prohibitive to make fusion commercially viable."
