CH727: A House of Death
The Khalifa Crime family was set up by two brothers originating from Homs; Qustaki, the older brother, and Riad, the younger. The brothers grew an organisation which lorded over Homs and the surrounding province. The Khalifa brothers became a well-known name in the city.
Qustaki was assassinated on a trip to Damascus when he went to the ancient city to spread the groups influence, leaving behind two sons, Nizar and Adlib.
Riad stabilised the situation, but the organisation was forced to retreat back to Homs after the loss of one of its leaders. However, Riad swore to return to Damascus in the future to takeover its underworld. The man spent the next two decades working towards this goal.
