**Flashback**
Fatima walked through the Inheritance door.
She found herself at the meeting point of a forest and a savannah. She looked around to get her bearings. Suddenly, leaves rustled.
She looked in the direction of the sound. She saw a black panther walking out from among the trees in the forest.
[Welcome, Successor.] The panther said, stopping before her.
Fatima nodded to the creature.
[Ours is the Heritage of Contractors. We form a partnership with creatures not of our species.]
