The Musketeers
The history of the organisation can be traced back to the early 17th century during the reign of Louis XIII . It was an elite group of battle-hardened soldiers from bloodlines of lower French nobility. They answered directly to the king and carried out all his orders, whatever they may be. This included policing, espionage, surveillance, assassination etc. Whatever the King ordered, they did. They were an illustrious and proud bunch.
However, by the early 19th century, the Musketeers of the King's guard was abolished by Louis XVIII.
