When they turned the final corridor to the engine room, they came under fire once more. They saw Seiichirou run off while they were pinned behind cover. They wanted to pursue but the hostiles firing at them wouldn't let them.
They could only accept the suppression under cover.
"They are different. I think it's the mercenaries Seiichirou hired," Buchannan said.
Korede nodded in agreement.
The two mercs kept to the sides of the corridor as they covered Seiichirou's retreat. They took advantage of the terrain. The uneven walls shielded them enough from Korede and Buchannan's fire.
