Similar to most of the other African countries, Nigeria has a rich cultural diversity. The nation's population boasts of above 500 unique tribes and ethnicities. This diversity of people and culture gives the country a rich and vibrant national identity.
The flipside of this however is that the country struggles with the issue of tribal and ethnic inclusion.
Many of its tribes feel left out of National government and nation planning, mostly at the hands of the five or six major tribes and ethnicities at the top of the countries cultural strata.
