I was speechless. Those things didn't come to my mind as his arrogant brother, Liam had tried to seduce me.
Little did I know, Lisandro cared for me as his sex slave. He knew I am a woman who needed protection especially now that Liam appeared out of nowhere.
Lisandro covered his face with his hands and tried to calm down. He then quickly loosened up his necktie and unbuttoned his sleeve frustratingly.
"I shouldn't have left you while you're in a deep sleep! I should have stopped Liam from manipulating you," he said.
Sincerity had drawn on his face. I'd felt it as it touched my soul and flowed into my veins.
Conscience had convinced now. While my hands trembled because of fear, I cupped his scarlet face and moved closer to him.
We stayed at that position for seconds and it felt too good. It had lessened the burden within my heart and I hoped, he felt the same way too.
"I'm sorry for everything. But I promised, I won't talk to your brother whether your parents are around or not." I said to calm his system down.
Every time I got closer to him, a tingling, sweet feeling suddenly happened. It gave me butterflies in my stomach which I didn't experience during my high school and college years.
Lisandro stiffened. It was a sign that I should take off my hands on him before he misunderstood all of these.
"I'm sorry, I was just carried away!" I explained.
"Let's pretend that we're not threatened by your brother's presence. We must act perfectly in front of them, Lisandro. Or, everything we put onto this matter will go to waste."
He slightly shook his head in agreement as I took steps backward away from him. Not too close, not too far.
He said, "You're right! You're right. Let's get inside before they become suspicious about us."
The cold wind blew up for the nth time. It was relaxing which soothed my heavy heart and exhausted mind.
However, the moment he uttered his brother's name, it surprised me. He spoke like a big brother who cared about his girlfriend and at the same a good sibling.
Lisandro took a deep breath for a moment. He was trying to figure out things before it ruined his sanity and personal plans.
"Let's talk about this after dinner. Liam is watching us from a distance," he told me and I felt Liam's presence brought bad luck to him.
I wasn't sure about it, but the way they interact with each other, I knew something complicated has set them apart.
"Hey, love birds! It's time for dinner!" Liam shouted instead of saying it formally.
It made Lisandro upset. Liam's behavior was comparable to a ten-year-old boy who didn't know about etiquette.
He then narrowed his eyes and grabbed my arms so suddenly. It startled me, but I kept quiet until we reached the dining area with Liam.
I didn't understand why he seemed interested in me. Liam has perfect physical features. He was tall with cold, fair white skin.
An ordinary woman would fall in love with him, but in my perspective, I would never fall in love with someone because of his looks and wealth.
It would always be attitude before anything else.
However, Mrs. Realm threw a deep, scary gaze at me. She was aggressive, and it terrified me.
For heaven's sake, I'm a human being and I would faint if the people before me were all werewolves. Any moment, they would bite my neck and eat my flesh until I die.
She said, "Take a seat."
Lisandro pulled a chair next to him and I seated quickly without losing my composure despite his family's nerve-cracking identity.
Suddenly, when I turned to Mrs. Realm's way, her eyes glinted, but if I wasn't mistaken, she rolled her eyes on me. It felt like a typical relationship between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
In a drama series, the mother of the male lead would give me a large sum of money and in return, I must let her son live far, far away from their life.
But we weren't in a drama series. Everything that happened before my eyes were real and right now, I must still convince his mother before we go back to reality.
"Eat some vegetables. It will help you gain weight and at least lighten up your skin," she said in front of everyone.
Lisandro looked at his mother for seconds. He was probably trying to stop Mrs. Realm, but I'd touched his arms and slightly shook my head.
"It's fine. Your mother is right at some point." I told him that shocked everyone, especially her.
The smile on my lips remained while I reached for the bowl of vegetables. I then put some of it on my plate and took one slice of meat.
Through my peripheral vision, I'd noticed how Mrs. Realm's expression had changed. A frown on her face has vanished as it was being replaced by a short, witty smile.
I must try harder, harder and harder. I could feel that any moment, she would finally tell Lisandro that she like me for her son.
Right then, I took the pork and tasted the vegetable salad. But under the rectangular table filled with meats and glasses of red wine, someone kicked off my right leg terrified me.
I couldn't stand, or even ask anyone who kicked my leg mercilessly because I didn't still swallow everything.
Until I looked at her with a mischievous smile on her lips.
"Oh, what's wrong, young lady? You looked hurt!" she said and acted as a caring future mother-in-law.
I knew it! My instincts were always right. But I couldn't imagine she kicked me under the table.
She was not supposed to do that! I'm Lisandro's girlfriend and even if she didn't like it, she should have at least confronted me after dinner.
But I'd chosen not to surrender. The real battle has just started and a real warrior always took a risk to succeed.
And this time around, I would take any risk no matter what happened.
"I'm flattered to taste such delicate and perfect salad of yours! I can not stop myself now and please, don't regret what you said earlier."
A woman would always win if she used her intelligence. At that moment, she smiled widely that I'd never seen since the moment I met her.
A perfect, white of teeth flaunted and she said, "You're quite witty, young lady. Lisandro has finally found the woman that I wanted for him."
Lisandro and I suddenly looked at each other in awe. It was frightening, but at the same time, it was overwhelming.
At last, I'd completed the new task successfully. I could take care of Andrea without thinking about my work anymore.
Four of us smiled sweetly except Liam. He was acting like a deaf child surrounded by a crowd until we heard a loud, frightening howl from the forest.
Lisandro quickly grabbed my hands while Liam with his father stopped eating.
"Stay here and protect them. I am counting on you, son." Mr. Realm told Lisandro as he disappeared like a wind with Liam.
What just happened? Why did Mr. Realm go to the forest upon hearing the horrible howl of a creature?
