Chapter 25 - Chapter Twenty-Five

When I woke up in his lap he was stroking my hair. It was soothing so I pretended I was still asleep.

"I know you're awake." Aidan said.

"H-how would you know that?" I asked as I opened my eyes.

"You snore a little bit in your sleep."

"D-do not." I said and sat up.

"How would you know? You're asleep."

I smacked my lips and looked up at him.

"You have a good point…How much further?" I asked and rubbed my eyes.

He chuckled. "We'll be there before night fall."

"So far away." I said as I looked out the window. The sun hadn't even tucked behind the trees yet.

"More like we're taking an unconventional way there as a safety precaution."

"And why are you in here with me instead of out there, ready to fight?" I jested.

"Oh, I'm ready to fight if I need to but my number one priority is to get you there safely."

"Well, that's silly. Your safety is more important than mine."

"Says who?" He almost seemed upset when he asked.

"Me." I say a little confused. "Without a King or an heir, a Queen doesn't have any power. Especially one that isn't from a royal bloodline. I couldn't do anything for Britania and I doubt I'd get a warm welcome at home."

"I wasn't thinking of it that way."

"I know." I say and rest my head on his shoulder.

"Still tired?"

"No, just want to be close to you." I said.

It was a long but uneventful journey to Halifax – the nation to the West. They had superior troops and resources – enabling them to remain neutral in this war that had consumed several of the 7 countries.

We were holding our peace negotiations at one of their large military outposts – neutral territory. We arrived late in the afternoon – Aidan and I were permitted to rest in nice quarters inside and so was King Thebes. All other men, besides a few personal guard, had to rest outside in tents.

Before we could even go to our room to clean up and rest before dinner we ran into trouble.

"What are you saying?" Aidan asked, clearly agitated.

"The King of Cordona has requested you two sleep in separate rooms due to the whirlwind nature of the marriage. We have to agree until we can confirm the relationship is legitimate." The advisor said.

"Legitimate!" Aidan shouted.

"Aidan." I said.

"You have no right to do this. She is my wife!" Aidan said.

"Aidan." I said again and grabbed his arm. "Advisor White," I say with a smile, "I can reassure you that our marriage is legitimate and consensual."

"I'm sorry mi'lady but it is a condition for the peace negotiations." The advisor said.

"She is my Queen and you will address her as such." Aidan growled.

"Y-yes of course Your Majesty, my apologies."

"I need to talk to King Thebes now then to sort this all out." I said.

"He hasn't arrived yet Your Majesty."

"When he arrives then." Aidan said.

"Both parties may only speak during the peace negotiations-"

"You cannot keep us-" Aidan started shouting again.

"I-it, we will take separate rooms tonight and will discuss it tomorrow." I said and pulled at Aidan.

"Very good Your Majesty. Let me show you to your rooms." The advisor said. He showed us to our rooms on different sides of the small building.

Aidan was even more furious, but I calmed him down before I washed up and met him in the dining hall.

"This isn't acceptable. I have half a mind to just leave." He grumbled.

"Calm down Aidan." I said in a low voice.

"I will not calm down. They cannot keep me from my wife." Aidan said and motioned towards the guards they had escorting us.

"It's one night-"

"One night after hundreds without you. They cannot do this to royalty."

"Hey." I say as I scoot closer to him. "We'll find time to be together. And you can use tonight to prepare for the negotiations tomorrow." I said, he just groaned in response. "Just remember the nights we've already had together and how enthusiastic I'll be at the beach."

I subconsciously bit my lower lip and saw him shudder.

"Oh what I'm going to do to you." He said and pulled me closer.

"Nothing tonight." I teased.

"Don't be so sure." He said and pulled me up onto his lap.

"Ai-Aidan." I say in a nervous tone.

"They can stay and watch if they want." He said in a seductive tone.

"N-no way." I say as he places kisses all over my chest and top of my breasts.

"Well then they can leave." He said in a cold tone as he looked at the guards. They weren't budging.

"Y-you can wait outside." I say but still they don't budge. "Get out!" I yell and throw something at them. Finally they leave and shut the door behind them.

He groaned and pulled me closer. "I hate it when you have to wear all these clothes."

"I need you to be calm." I said but I was interrupted when Aidan kissed me.

"Don't tell me to be calm when they're trying to keep me from my wife." He kept kissing me as his hands roamed my body. "God, I want to rip these clothes off you."

"Oh these clothes? They won't come off until we get to the beach."

He chuckled as he picked me up and put me on top of the table. He stood up and pushed my dress all the way up.

"Wait-" I say.

"No way." He went to kiss me, but I kept him at arm's length. "Ari." He groaned.

"Just tell me that you will remain calm during these negotiations." I said.

"As soon as I can have you."

I smile and move my arm. He smirks and kisses me harder than before.

He opens my legs a little more while he unties his pants. He takes his hardened member out and slides inside me.

"You're in for one hell of a tease after this."

"Not until-"

"If you think you'll have anytime for the beach you're mistaken."

"Well, we'll have a lifetime to go back."

"And a lifetime to tease you."
