Chapter 227 - Shifting Tides of Battle

Gaeren spun through the air head over heels to smash into one of the massive Thousand Leg Devourers as it charged forward. His blow bounced the creature off the stone of the castle, dazing it but doing little damage.  Behind him, Shiv's feet barely touched the ground as she danced around knocking the scorpionflies away.  A few succumbed to the wounds and fell out of the sky but most were just sent buzzing backwards.  They were no longer tagging out as the battle had grown too intense.  For the first time, Gaeren wondered if he had made a mistake.  With his mate by his side on the battlefield, he had believed them unbeatable.  What he couldn't smash through Shiv's graceful style tended to destroy.
