Most of the council as Sael thought of them were standing with him on the balcony. Only Jess was missing as she was still working away in the workshop. Plus Sael didn't want her to see what might happen. Each of the others were standing by ready to step in should the situation turn dire but for now he planned to deal with this on his own. He wasn't that worried about the others since it should just be the king and his personal guard. More so he wanted a chance to test his limits again. He wanted a better grasp of what he could do at his current power level and if things got dicey maybe the stupid shadow would give back his power. For the others, he simply stated he wanted to keep as much of their abilities secret for as long as possible. They seemed to believe him at least.
When the gate formed Sael frowned as did several others. "That's a damn big gate for just a small group." Gaeren loved pointing out the obvious. No one bothered to give him a response.
