Chapter 117 - Funerals

Dawn came and the first set of bodies were given to the flame.  Lining up the corpses on altars raised from the castle each was given their final set off with the rising sun.  There were no eulogies for the dead in this world for the Fae kind, only a silent observation remembering those lost.  Their ashes were scattered to the wind over the swamp in the hopes that they would help vitalize the land as the final passing gift of the dead.

At noon the Grey Mountain clan was also given to the flame.  Unlike the morning ceremonies, loud brash songs were sung at the top of their lungs.  While most of the members of the Grey Mountain clan sang a song that spoke of the clans' overall history there was one representative for each of the dead.  They sang out not the deeds of the clan but the individual heroic deeds of the now dead.  Aoife stood at the head of the altar for Beinn her voice louder than all the others as her face took on an almost lionesses appearance to roar out.
