Lucifer's father wanted to investigate which of them had actually killed their people. He only wanted to kill them while granting other forms of punishment to the ones that hadn't harmed their warriors. He understood most of these soldiers were just following orders after all.
He wanted to say something to Lucifer, but he didn't know what to say. In the end, he just sighed. He believed this was the first time Lucifer had seen so many people die, so it was valid of him to be angry and emotional.
