A simple knock brought Alpha Noah out, he was already dressed which meant that he was ready to make his way to his office, so early too.
The sun was steadily rising, bringing with it light and warmth that didn't seem to touch Jaxon or Darian.
"Good morning!" Alpha Noah greeted them, pleasantly surprised by their stange visit.
He caught on quickly to the tense air surrounding them and straightened up, stepping out to meet them. "Is something wrong?"
"Yes, Leon is missing." Darian spoke up for the first time to Alpha Noah.
That surprised him even more than the words he had spoken but somehow, the words coming from him gave it more weight.
"Excuse me?" He leaned forward, blinking as he tried to make sense of what he had just heard.
"Our Head Warrior is missing." Jaxon interjected, his voice coming out hard and formal. "I'd like it if you took this seriously."
Alpha Noah sighed, pushing open the door again. "I'll skip breakfast, love!" He peeked his head into his apartment to say.
He stepped out again, giving Jaxon and Darian suspicious looks. "Follow me."
Darian eyed the back of the Alpha's head like he wanted to take him down, Jaxon did the same for different reasons, he felt bad for the Alpha, who clearly loved his mate dearly.
His mate who clearly didn't deserve all that love.
He led the way to his office, immediately reaching out to his Head Beta as soon as they were in.
"Please take your seats." Alpha Noah offered generously.
Jaxon had done as he offered, Darian pulling out the chair for him but he made no move to sit down as well, simply hovering over Jaxon menacingly.
He was starting to realise that this might be a dire situation, Jaxon and Darian seemed like level headed people, they definitely wouldn't go through this length if there wasn't some truth to their words.
It also spelled doom for him and the rest of his Pack, Crimson Pack alone on its own was enough to wipe out his defences and take over his Pack.
Add that to the fact that they had the backing of Dark Moon Pack, another impressive Pack all on it's own and the fact that the missing Head Warrior was the Alpha's older brother and sweat started beading on his forehead.
A Pack war would absolutely crush his Pack, if the huge, dark haired wolf didn't start on him first.
Now, where was Ethan when you needed him?
For someone who readily answered his phone, he was taking his time to do that on a day such as this one.
It didn't help that Darian kept staring at him from where he stood like he knew something that Noah didn't, it made him shift uncomfortably in his chair.
After the fifth time and there was still no answer, he decided to call in the Head Warrior instead, he should already be around the Pack House, considering that it was time for training.
"Morning, Alpha, what can I do for you?" Theo picked on the third ring.
"I need you to come right up to my office, stop by Ethan's apartment and come with him." He ordered tightly.
"Sure thing." Theo accepted without question, hanging up.
Alpha Noah dropped his phone on his desk, wiping sweat off his forehead. "Did you try calling him?" He asked, stalling until his Head Beta and Head Warrior showed up so that they could all handle the situation together.
Darian simply tossed Leon's phone on the Alpha's desk.
Alpha Noah's eyes tracked the phone as it slid in his direction, things were about to get really complicated.
They waited in silence until Head Warrior Theo showed up, the dark haired man knocking before peeking into the Alpha's office.
"Come right in Theo." Noah said impatiently. " And tell me you have Ethan with you."
"No I don't. Theo replied plainly, nodding to Darian and Jaxon as he made his way in. "I thought he was already here."
Alpha Noah frowned. "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, I went to his apartment as you ordered, knocked and no one answered, I tried the door for laughs and giggles and it opened easily." He started to narrate. "A quick tour of the place showed that there was no one in there, the bed didn't look like anyone slept in it too."
Darian had been expecting this but not Jaxon, whose eyes went wide as he started to compute the new information.
Alpha Noah's expression darkened, there was no missing the accusation in Theo's voice. "Are you saying he's the reason why Head Warrior Leon is missing?" He asked tightly.
Theo wasn't backing down. "I'm merely stating facts..."
"Let's put down all the information we have down first before jumping into conclusions and calling them facts." Noah cut him off, silver tinting his eyes.
Theo just shrugged, unfazed. "Go right ahead."
His actions caught Darian's eye, the Head Warrior knew something.
Jaxon was thinking about something else, the one time he had gone to Head Warrior Theo's place for lunch, all those weird questions were starting to make sense.
Theo had probably seen something no one else did.
"Could you say exactly what you know happened, word for word?" Alpha Noah turned to Jaxon and Darian.
Jaxon was already impatient, the more they sat in here bickering, the farther away Leon got but it made no sense making moves without planning.
Darian spoke, a comforting hand on Jaxon's shoulders. "I can vouch that he slept in the apartment because I literally carried him to bed, not to mention that we all sleep on the same bed." He said in a level voice like he wasn't saying very questionable things.
Not like it was surprising considering that Jaxon was proudly sporting two mating marks.
"What happened after that?" Alpha Noah prodded, it was clear that he still fully supported Ethan even though his Head Beta had pulled a vanishing move at such a delicate time.
Darian already knew it was the bastard and if he got his hands on him, he would make sure to break a couple bones in his fucking spine.
