Chapter 39 - Bloody cleaver, Beast transformation

Tianlong's punch carried huge momentum with it.

If it was before today, it would have created a whistling sound due to its speed. But now that his wind affinity had reached a new level, his body became even more aerodynamic experienced almost zero resistance from the wind.

"Pu.."

Han Mu spat a mouthful of blood as the fist connected with his midsection. The momentum sent him flying and he crashed at the opposite wall.

He felt a buzzing sound in his head as his head struck the wall. He coughed another mouthful of blood and tried to collect himself together. All of his internal organs were in disarray.

"How can his physical strength be so much?" He couldn't fathom how a Qi refiner could injure a body refiner using physical strength.

Not only him, but all the surrounding spectators narrowed their eyes and wondered the same thing.

The Diamond carapace realm's function was to provide a strong defence and swift regeneration. In terms of increasing physical strength, it barely contributed anything. Despite that, the physical strength shouldn't be something a Qi condensation realm cultivator could match!

None of them got much time for introspection as Tianlong had already rushed towards Han Mu, his cleaver glowing a bright shade of scarlet.

Han Mu quickly stood up and raised his arms in a cross shape to block the incoming blade strike.

Clang!

His arms hardened and became completely golden. They lost their usual texture and looked like sheet metal. Ordinary attacks couldn't scratch it.

Yet, as the cleaver continued to clash with him, blood-red qi waves in the shape of crescent moons would shoot out from it that left huge gashes in his body. Although his golden skin would heal just as fast, it would use up the faint blood qi in his body every time.

"Are you all just going to watch and do nothing?" He screamed in an ugly voice. His clothes were spattered with blood. The cuts in arms were taking longer and longer to heal.

He had naturally noticed the bandits nearby. They were just spectating the battle with interest and did nothing to stop them.

"Why should we? Han Mu, you were too poisonous with your words! Since your parents didn't teach you how to respect elders, it's only natural that elder Zhan would teach you some manners!" someone called out from the crowd.

All the bandits burst out laughing. They were used to looting and committing sins to their heart's content but ever since this spirit pond was discovered, they were forced to work honestly and barely fought. This naturally caused most of them to feel a sense of loss. Today's fight provided them with a break from their boredom.

"Bastards!" Han Mu inwardly cursed in his mind. He understood what was going through their mind …because he would've done the same thing if he was in their position.

While the bandits acted as a collective group, they had no sense of belonging. The only thing common between them was that all of them were Qin Houzi's slave. They had no qualms about killing each other it's just that their boss forbade them from killing or crippling each other.

Hence, most of them believed that no one would mortally wound or cripple the other. At most, they'll just be heavily wounded. They could also see that despite his heavy attacks, there was no killing intent coming from old Zhan.

But unlike them, Han Mu was certain that sure that his opponent was hell-bent on killing him. He could feel no killing intent coming from old Zhan, there was only deathly calmness in his eyes, which was even more terrifying than the latter.

Clashing with the wind blades had left his body sliced open in many places. He couldn't believe that despite having reached this stage, he still couldn't win against old Zhan. Worst of all, he knew that old Zhan hadn't even taken out his bone puppet.

"Old Zhan!" His hair was dishevelled, clothes tattered and stained with blood. "You forced me to do this!" Eyes bloodshot, he tore open his robe. There was a necklace with three black beads around his neck. Plucking one of the beads, he crushed it between his fingers. A thick demonic qi came out of it which turned into a cloud of black smoke and entered his body.

His facial features twisted and sharp fangs came out of his mouth. His body hair started to grow and covered him in violet luxuriant fur. His body expanded and sharp claws came out of his hand.

Roar!

The demonic pill was something that could not only increase his physical strength tremendously but also give him the ability to manipulate demonic qi. Its only downside was that it would turn him into a mindless killing machine. Currently, he was nothing but a human-shaped demonic beast.

Tianlong knew he couldn't let this charade continue. Sooner or later, someone might intervene and take his precious test subject.

With a cold look on his face, channelled a massive amount of blood Qi into the cleaver, which made it shine with a piercing bloody glow. No one associated it with blood qi and just thought that it was an innate ability of the treasure.

The bloody light hid the fact that there were tens of wind blades stacked on top of it. Due to his breakthrough, his wind attacks were more in synchronization with the natural world. Unless someone deliberately scanned it with their spiritual sense, they wouldn't be able to detect it.

"Stay your hand!"

A shout infused with spiritual energy shot towards them. The situation had already spiralled out of control. While none of them cared about Han Mu and old Zhan's life, they might get punished for not stopping the fight.

Yet none of them paid any attention to the voice. Han Mu let out a final howl and threw himself at Tianlong. Supported by his massive blood qi, The cleaver in Tianlong's hand turned gargantuan as it swung down on Han Mu.

Swish! Bang!

There was a flash of crimson and gold as the two clashed in mid-air.

Han Mu's massive strength sent Tianlong staggering back. His garment was torn off and blood seeped from the edges of his lips. Turning around, he saw Han Mu standing there with a blank expression on his face.

As soon as their eyes met, Han Mu's expression again turned venomous. Just as he took a step forward, a fountain of blood spurt out from his midsection as his intestines threatened to spill out. He gave a final howl and tumbled down.

Without waiting for anyone's response, Tianlong turned into a blur and directly reached Han Mu's body.

Despite the heavy wound, the latter's body had already started to heal. However, a large amount of his blood had been lost, it would take him a lot of time to recover.

"Old Zhan, are you really going to kill him?" A drunken voice came from the crowd. He and old Zhan could be considered acquaintances, so he cared a bit for him.

Although the others were silent, the same question was in everyone's mind. Whether he killed Han Mu or not, there would surely be an interesting drama later on.

Tianlong looked at Li Cai and shook his head in denial. Then he picked up Han Mu's body and raised three fingers towards the crowd.

Without saying another word, he left the place. The surrounding crowd watched in silence and didn't try to stop him. Once he was away from their sight, the crowd immediately buzzed and started discussing among themselves.

"Hu~" A surrounding cultivator sucked in a cold breath of air. "A fifth layer Qi condensation realm winning against a golden body stage cultivator …unbelievable!"

"Hmm, I say it's because of his cleaver magical treasure. It has stained with the blood of hundreds of humans and thus gained incredible sharpness. Without its assistance, he wouldn't have been able to cut him so easily."

"So, what? Magical treasures are also considered as an individual's strength. Furthermore, that Han Mu had equally shocking demonic beads which let him possess the strength of berserk beasts …sadly, all of that will now belong to old Zhan."

"Huh, I wouldn't be so sure of that. Regardless of who started this conflict first, both of them will receive punishment. As for us, we told them to stay their hands but none of them listened." The crowd laughed at the remark.

"Right… it's just that I wonder, what did he mean by raising three fingers? Is he going to sever three of his limbs!" The man who said that sucked in a cold breath of air.

"If he really wanted to sever something from his body, he would've already done so. I think what he meant was that he had captured Han Mu and would only release him after three days …maybe three weeks." The man darkly chuckled for a bit. "As for what he's going to do… Heh, I think we already know that."
