Seconds later, the ring tone of the phone call could be heard by others as well.

Everyone could see the phone clearly, so if the call was connected, they should notice right away.

This notification was a huge slap to Xuan Lincheng's face as every student could hear it loud and clear.
Xuan Lincheng's whole face felt hot. Her body froze on the spot, and her shoulder trembled like crazy.
"What's going on? That phone number isn't Lai Jiayi's number?" one of the students asked his friends for confirmation.
"Yeah, it seemed so?" others answered. They all started to whisper, discussing this matter they had just witnessed.
'The number Xuan Lincheng called isn't active? But Lai Jiayi's phone is there, and it's not off.'
The students thought.
'Yet...the call didn't connect at all, there's no incoming call to Lai Jiayi's phone. Does this mean…'
The students' eyes began to dart around. Sweat began to wet their palms.
They still stared closely at Lai Jiayi's phone, thinking that there would be a delayed call or something, but in fact, there's no incoming call at all.

Her voice was icy when she said the last sentence. It made the whole classroom fall into a deep silence.
All the students sucked in cold air, unable to react at all. That tone of voice was extremely harsh and cold.
'So scary!"
Xuan Lincheng was startled. The girl subconsciously stepped back while clutching the hem of her skirt, feeling that her plan is utterly destroyed.
'What should I do?? Should I apologize? But…'
"What? Can't say anything? What you did just now is blaming me without evidence." Lai Jiayi snorted as she stepped forward, approaching Xuan Lincheng.

Xuan Lincheng was terrified. She shrunk while kept retreating.
'No! I won't admit defeat! I won't apologize!' She stubbornly thought.
