"Eh? What happened?" Sylvia chuckled and petted the wolf. She picked up the small animal in her hands and hugged it close to her chest.
"You don't want me to leave?"
The little pup's face immediately lit up and it shook its head vigorously. Sylvia's heart ached but where she was going was very dangerous.
Her life itself was riddled with one disaster after another. She didn't want to subject a helpless pup to her miseries.
"It's for your own good. Stay here, okay." She reluctantly placed the pup down and started walking away.
The wolf whined at her as if it knew what Sylvia was trying to say. But when she tried to walk away from it, it ran behind her, following her, and then bit into her clothes.
She tried to leave again but it repeatedly did the same, not letting her go. The little guy was even panting, completely out of breath from chasing behind her relentlessly.
Sylvia was touched by how sweet and innocent the small beast looked.
