Chapter 6 - Chapter Five

Master Nem's office

Sitting in a huge chair in front of an even bigger futuristic screen sat Master Nem with a bone that she used as a toothpick in her hand. Right by her side was Sheeva standing on the arm of the chair, watching as well. "How intriguing that the girls have already retrieved a fair amount of the boys we lost in such a short time," Sheeva commented.

"Yes, it is. I have had the utmost confidence in my daughters. Given the new terrain, they needed a little assistance, but nevertheless, they adapted and overcame it. They will have all those boys back before the deadline arrives." Master Nem smiled.

Standing up from her chair, she walked out of the room and straight down the hallway with Sheeva. "Let's pay our tenants a visit." She said.

In another room, Master Nem pushed open the door into a dark room with a small spotlight in the middle. Shrinking down to a more normal size Master Nem walked towards the spotlight where Alexander and Charley were being held captive in chains. "King and Queen... how are we doing today?" Master Nem asked with a smile on her face.

There was no response from either of them, not even so much as a glance from them. "Not as talkative as you were before Alexander." Master Nem said, stopping only a few feet away from them. "I come to offer you a deal." She started, "Why don't you join me and my cause?" She asked with a boastful smile. "I saw how both of you fought against my Valkyries. They are by no means weak, and I noted that the two of you defeated all of them. You also fought with me, Alexander, and you definitely held your own and even surprised me with your vast arsenal!"

Raising their heads in unison, both looked at Master Nem with blank stares. It wouldn't be long till Alexander would go into hysterical laughter. Charley would shortly follow after making Master Nem frown. "You know, it's funny, Master Nem. I can't say I am not surprised you asked. Hmph, I won't waste my time joining you."

A smile would creep onto her face revealing her ugly yellow teeth. "Disobedient children will be disciplined, Alexander."

Jacan and Lola pushed against one another until both skidded back a dozen meters away, coming to a halt. Beginning to walk in a large circle, Jacan and Lola never took their eyes off one another. While he scolded her, she stayed the same, still having that same grin. "I don't understand... don't you know who I am?" He would ask her.

Both stopped at the same time, and Lola's veins began bulging. Taking a step forward, Lola propelled herself towards Jacan, closing the forty-meter distance in less than three seconds. Striking Jacan in the face, he only stumbled back a few steps before returning the same action sending Lola flying back over hundreds of meters till she halted herself. Getting up, she was snatched by the throat and slammed into the ground with force. "Don't make me do this!" Jacan yelled.

Using her legs, she wrapped herself around his neck, beginning to constrict as hard as she could. Jacan's veins in his arm and head bulged as he began prying Lola's legs off of him. Quickly thinking, she used her feet to push herself away from him. Getting back up, Lola was grabbed by the head and hoisted up in the air like a doll. Hitting Jacan in the sternum with a knee strike, he stumbled back a few steps again, releasing his grasp on her. Lola closed the gap between them, throwing a furry of blows and hitting Jacan in different areas of his body at a frightening speed. He only would stumble back, taking the brute onslaught of this attack. Catching her fist in his hand, Jacan lifted her over his head and slammed her into the ground creating a small crater. "I'm not trying to hurt you! Give up!"

Lola would perform a kip up from the hole and kick Jacan again in the sternum, making him stumble again. Turning herself, she leads with a powerful uppercut to his chin. Turning again, she raised her foot only to smash it on his head.

Jacan growled in frustration, rushing her down, wrapping his arms around her waist to hoist her up and suplex the 500-pound young woman on her head and neck. Jacan would perform this move twice before finally throwing her a few hundred meters through multiple trees. Grabbing hold of his chest, Jacan was quickly getting exhausted. "Damn it." In this instance, trees could be seen being uprooted from the ground and thrown toward him at horrific speed. Catching the first tree thrown at him, Jacan skidded back till he came to a halt.

Leaping over a hundred meters in the air, Jacan avoided all the other trees. Looking down, he saw yet another tree thrown towards him. Sinking his fingers into the tree, Jacan swatted that multiton tree away. Lola leaped towards Jacan with her own tree, and the two clashed in mid-air, breaking over half the tree from impact. The decisive strike sent the two away from one another, only to lead to another mighty clash breaking the tree entirely.

Jacan dived down, spearing Lola downward towards the earth. Lola began to hammer fists on Jacan's back, yet he still held on tightly. Slamming into the ground at maximum velocity, the two slid across, bouncing multiple times.

Jacan stood up at the same time Lola did. Jacan had been noticeably exhausted, while Lola had not even begun panting. At the same time, the two rushed forward; Jacan threw the first blow striking Lola in the face and making her stumble back a few steps. Retaliating, Lola hit Jacan in the face as well, but there was a significant change. Instead of stumbling back, Jacan was sent skidding across the ground now. "I'm not done yet!" Jacan yelled. Lola was now on the offensive once more. Each strike was physically more powerful than the last Jacan was now working on maintaining his body.

Miraculously Jacan did find an opening. Taking a few additional hits, Jacan struck Lola in the side, knocking her down. Using her hands, she propelled herself upwards, leading with her heel to hit him underneath the chin sending him flying upwards. Coming back now, Lola would strike in Jacan in the sternum with an open palm. Blood spilled out of Jacan's mouth as he was launched across the battlefield. Readjusting himself mid-air, Jacan dug all ten fingers into the ground, making him come to a harrowing halt. "Blood?" He asked himself, seeing it drip from his nose onto the dirt. "I haven't seen this ever since that fight with Kirk...."

Since Jacan received his gift well over a century ago, he was the most formidable individual to walk the island. As long as Jacan can prepare himself, he can sustain any physical hit without being affected. Time and time again, he has been struck by Alexander, Sam, Charley, and even Hyptant himself. In all his years, as long as he was ready for it, there was no way he could have been hurt. But, many years ago, during a fight for the fourth number spot on the leaderboard, Kirk and Jacan agreed to a contest. In Jacan's head, he thought it would have been an easy win. It would only take one solid hit to the liver to put Jacan down for the count of coughing up blood like never before.

Jacan has often been pushed to the point where he was too tired to keep up and would pass out from exhaustion. This was far different than any fight before. He knew that if he gave up, he would be captured and taken back to the island. He had been pushed past his time limit and already knew it.

Jacan looked at Lola, who was making her way over to him. In that small instance, he saw what she used to look like before all of this happened. The hair that covered her face had never been like that. Once upon a time, her dirty blonde hair had been extremely well-kept. She had always smiled and laughed even through the most challenging times when they were constantly bullied. Now, she was just silent with little facial expressions. All he could think was what unspeakable horrors she witnessed to turn out like this.

Closing the distance between them, Lola took one step back and propelled herself forward, striking Jacan, who used both his forearms to block her fist. Repelling her hand away, Jacan performed a solid push kick sending Lola skidding back. Closing the gap again, Jacan struck her on the side of the cheek, forcing her down into the ground. Lola's body bounced off the ground into the air Jacan saw this opportunity to leap, striking her in the back and launching her hundreds of meters away from the location.

Landing back down, Jacan fell straight to his knees, coughing up blood. "Damn it... she pushed me to the limit." A loud thud was heard, making Jacan look up to see a few trees falling over. That's where Lola had landed. Veering his head to the right, Hyena Girl was still idling by with no care in the world.

Standing up to his full height, he began walking away, holding his chest. From behind, a sadistic giggle-like sound made Jacan stop in his tracks. Turning around, he saw that Hyena Girl was laughing right at him. Similar to that of an actual hyena, this became very unnerving to Jacan, but he chose to ignore it. Turning again, he was met with a foot to the side of the temple. The impact forced Jacan into the dirt, creating a small crater and a powerful shockwave that tore open the ground.

Jacan grunted as he tried to get back up, only to be forced back into the ground again.

"Not bad, Jacan... not bad at all. Unlike your peers who could barely take one hit, you're the only one who put up a fight. But then again, Lola didn't need to do much. She just needed to outlast you..." Heaven landed a few feet in front of Jacan, her sister, not too far behind. "Alexander, Charley, and now you. The top underlings are dropping like flies, and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. All we need is Zach, Kirk, Sam, and the rest will fall."

"You won't win this..." Jacan said, looking up at the girls. "You won't win this at all."

" Oh... But we already have Jacan. See you up top."

Back at the main hideout, Kyzarian smashed the wall in frustration. "Physically, he was our strongest fighter! They are picking us off like we're nothing!" Isabella and Dakota stood behind him, concerned for Kyzarian. This had been the first time they had ever seen him this worked up for a long time.

"Ky, I do have a suggestion..." Raising his head, it came to his surprise that Dakota had spoken. Ever since he had left the island, he was a young man of very few words. "Why don't you let me take care of this matter?"

Kyzarian's eyes widen in shock. "Dakota... I appreciate the offer, but... we can't let you do that." He said back to him.

"Why is that?" He asked, "Think about it our numbers are dwindling almost daily. Let's face it, they will know where we are before we see them, and we'll be captured. Zach and Kirk are our King and Queen, and if we let them get captured, then it is a done deal for us.

Please, let me do this one thing for them...."

Isabella crossed her arms and leaned back against the wall glancing over at Kyzarian, waiting for his input. "Regardless.... even if he were to say no, you are going to go anyway, aren't you, Dakota?" Isabella asked with a confident smirk.

A soft smile formed upon Dakota's face as he began to glow purple. "You don't have to worry about me getting captured. Even if I do, I know I can bide enough time for Kirky and Zach to return. So, let me handle this; give me a location Isabella..."

Moments later, Dakota leaped into the night sky and took off toward where the girls were currently at. In the hideout, Isabella turned back to Kyzarian, who was disapprovingly shaking his head. "I wouldn't have given him the location Isabella."

"I know, but knowing Dakota, he would have left within the next few hours to find them anyway. We wouldn't be able to stop him regardless, and there is no use in going after him or we'd risk putting ourselves in danger. Besides, I saw his performance against Hyptant. Someone with no training and no prior experience ever fighting him and he had no issue taking him on. Can't explain it but Dakota is definitely a force to be reckon with. He'll hold them off long enough or at least throw them off track."
