It's the following morning. I'm making breakfast for Ley and me. He is still upstairs and hasn't woken up, so I'm thinking of having breakfast in bed.
I had prepared a toasted bread, and I guess hotdogs and scramble eggs will do. Of course, a hot chocolate drink is present as it's Ley's favorite drink. But thinking he can eat so much, I also got us slices of apple and grapes on the side.
I went up to my room, carrying the food with me. As soon as the door opened, I saw Ley staring at the painting.
"Has it been there all this time?" Ley asked.
"Nope. Just this morning, I had it place there. That's the painting from yesterday. I saw a month ago from an exhibit, and I thought that of buying i-"
"And did you buy it?" he interrupts me.
"Apparently, no," I casually said.
"Then how come that's here," he asked, trying to figure out things.
"I don't know too, but someone bought it for me and had it delivered in my name and my address," I explained.
"Is that the same person you told Charm?" he asked.
"Yup." I confidently said, like I'm so pretty 'cause I got admirers.
Then I suddenly realized that "Wait, what? Who told you?"
"Charm," he said like nothing.
"Charm told you what?" I asked.
"That someone is sending you gifts these last holidays," he bluntly said, hiding no secrets.
"Could you repeat all of that?" I asked once again.
"Charm told me tha-"
"Stop!" I interrupt and continue what I'm about to say, "I had enough," I said, talking to myself as this person in front of me had no idea. He doesn't care about my mini-drama here, and there goes munching what I had brought.
Gosh! Charm, you are such an adorable little creature, but your mouth isn't that small. She likes spilling tea. If I met her, she better be ready because she'll get what she deserved.
Grrr!!!
Toot. Toot.
A message has arrived.
"Are you free today?"
-Liam
"Who's that?" Ley asked, being a nosy one.
"Nothing," I responded, ignoring him and replying to Liam.
"Yeah. Why?" I texted back.
Toot. Toot.
"Who's texting you early in this morning?" Liam asked while his mouth was full.
"No one. Gosh, would you finish what's in your mouth before talking," I said, trying to change the topic and reminding Ley of the table manners?
"Will you go out with me? On a date?"
-Liam
I have no words to say. Is Liam being for real? I don't know what to say.
Toot. Toot.
Another message came in.
"10 AM at the café. I'll meet you there."
-Liam
It's 8:30 AM, and I still got an hour and thirty minutes before 10 AM.
"Why are you all red?" Again from Ley.
I shook my head, telling him it is nothing, but he suddenly snatched away my phone and looked at it. I guess he had seen Liam's messages. I saw him frown.
"Oh! Someone's got a date," he's kinda sarcastic when he said this, or I heard him wrong? "Since when did you guys start talking?" Ley monotonously asked. Why the change of mood?
"For a month now, I think so," I said, answering his question.
"I told you not to contact him or what, but I guess my opinion now weighs nothing to you," What's with him?
"That's not it-"
"Gotta go, Ziggy. I remember I also had an important thing to do. Thank you for the sleepover and the food," he said, interrupting me, and he doesn't even let me explain. He just smiled and quickly left.
"Bye," That's all I was able to say from what happened earlier, and I think he didn't hear that.
Back to Liam, I'll deal with Ley later.
Should I go or not.
I was walking around my room for about thirty minutes now, going back and forth, wondering if I'll go or not.
"Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No," uttering on repeat.
I had decided.
I'm going.
There's still an hour left.
So, I washed my body and groomed myself in that time left. I wore my usual pants topped with my blue shirt pairing it with my sneakers. I combed my hair, put on some lotion, wet my lips with a gloss, and sprayed my favorite scent from Victoria's Secret.
But then I realized. It's the first time I'm trying my best to look presentable for someone. I mean, I'm making an effort just to make someone impress on the way I carry myself, to be decent and presentable. Also, I feel very ecstatic yet so nervous as it's my first time going on a date.
Minutes had passed after the time he set. I'm late, so I was running towards our meeting place. I'm seeing him in front of the door. Gosh! Liam's looking so dashing from afar, I've never imagined seeing him differently because he's always on his work uniform topped off with an apron.
"Have you been… waiting for too long?" I asked him while panting.
"Not really. Are you okay?" he looks worried.
"Yeah, it's nothing. Probably from all the running I did." I said while catching my breath.
"You could have taken your time. I could wait no matter how long it is if it's you," Liam said with the sweetest smile.
"I think the ants are everywhere. Someone around here is too sweet," me trying to match up to Liam's fooling around.
"I beg to disagree because I think there's someone here is too excited that he's running just to see me, and he's catching his breath in front of me," Liam rebuts. But he's even more handsome looking up closed.
I was going to explain my side, but it would be pointless, "Yeah, you win. Aren't we going?" I said like I'm annoyed.
I have recollected myself. I am ready for anything that is about to happen.
"Can I hold your hand?" Liam asks randomly.
That I am not prepared for.
"Are you not afraid of what the people will say if they saw us hold each other's hands. Let me remind you that we are still both guys in their eyes,"
"Who cares on what they say or whatever they think. Right now, you are the only one that matters to me, as you are the person who makes me happy. No one out there can give the happiness you are bringing to me," he said.
I'm speechless. I let Liam hold my hand as we walk to where our feet bring us.
