"Brendan!"
The mother panicked as she only now noticed her son had silently walked away from her side moments ago. Her son had indeed planned on taking Brianna by surprise. Luckily the dark-skinned woman did not intend to strike back at her son, instead pushed him back.
Young Brendan laid there as he sat on the ground, trembling on the porch of the large, broken down house behind him.
"Get back here, Brendan!" The middle-aged mother loosened her grip on the large dog that kept growling at the duo in front as though threatening them she would set it loose on them. While at the same time, she hastily pulled her son protectively behind her. "What were you thinking!" Her tired and sleepless face looked anxious and worried that the two in front would be offended and attack them now in return.
Aiden gave the boy a thumbs-up with a grin on his face, "I like the way you think, young man. But this woman is scarier than you think."
