The engineer who remained in a coma this whole time, Mallory Keres. She was briefly mentioned by Anna at dinner a little while ago, before being silenced by her father not wanting it brought up at the kitchen table.
One who should, theoretically, be a big juicy battery of otherworldly energy for Arthur to claim and use.
"And if it wakes her up in the process, then we both win..." He muttered under his breath.
'But, what if I absorb so much power that I become the coma patient instead?...' A thought ran through his mind, before his exhaustion overtook him.
In the morning, Arthur didn't wake up.
