Chapter 79 - Chapter 77: Preparations

"I should leave Mai-San out of this. It's for her welfare." Hakai finally entered the city of Tokyo, looking down at the people below; the corners of his mouth drooped. The thought finally hit him. "Why's she so interested anyway? What's with her being able to perceive the spiritual realm?" His thought raced at the wrong time.

"Whoops. I'm using my physical energy." Hakai noted as he landed on top of a commercial building. "I gotta draw in and infuse some Positive Energy before something happens." Then before thinking it over, he began drawing massive amounts of positive energy into himself and fusing it with his spiritual energy. "Huh? He remarked as he felt a sharp pain. Though he didn't want to stop, he had no other choice. "What is this feeling?" He held his chest before leaping for aid; the only person he had in mind was Mai.

"I needa' make in time!" He said as he leaped over the commercial buildings, challenging himself to make it to Mai's house.

Wham!

"Well, if it isn't the God of War, Hachiman Kami." A man wearing a Hanfu, invisible behind a golden cloak, greeted Hachiman by an enormous staircase that led to the heavens within a massive mansion he entered through a bridge.

"I've come to speak," Hachiman informed the invisible Heavenly God before he felt a pressure on top of his shoulders. "What are you trying to do?" Hachiman asked the figure, bothered by the spell he employed on him.

"On your knees, earthly filth!" The figure increased the pressure, pointing his right hand's index and middle finger down.

Thud!

Although he let himself fall onto one knee, Hachiman still seemed bothered by this god's tone.

"That shall be better. Know thy placement next time." The higher authority figure turned around, and a desk appeared from thin air.

"Tsk!" Hachiman scuffed at him, disgusted.

"What brings thou to my mansion? Speak!" The god seemed bothered to look at Hachiman, toying around with his ink pen. Similarly, Hachiman never looked back, staring steadily at the ground below.

"Eek, I forgot to mail Hachiman the alert! But he also hasn't sent anyone to track me down and take it to him? So where is he anyway?" Hakai was worried for Hachiman and himself.

Suddenly he felt his body stiffen even more, feeling like lead. He kept trying his best not to fall unconscious. "I'm so close!" Again, he uttered, this time taking a quick way to Mai's house, skipping through neighbors' roofs.

Shup!

He finally landed on Mai's doorstep. "No use..."

Thud!

Hakai relieved his body and willpower for a split second and immediately lost consciousness. His head banged against the entrance door. His body was in an awkward position had his head against the cold door, like a spring ready to discharge as soon as the door opened inwardly.

"Haki-Kun?" Mai heard the know on the door and looked back while dining with her parents.

"Who could it be, dear?" Mai's mother asked.

"I don't know. I'll get it." Mai's father stood out from the table. As he walked towards the door, Mai's heart raced.

Ka-chk!

Bam!

Hakai's face planted on the cold floor.

"Haa!" Mai and her mother were shocked, gasping for air. Their reasons differed.

"Haki-Kun!" She ran to his side, as his low-profile presence was even shown to the parents because he interfered with the physical realm, this time not sealing away his inner presence.

Note: {Sealed Inner Presence and Low-Profile Presence are two different things. A Seal Inner Presence is something a god would do if he wished not to show himself to humanity in battle or public. It also applies to Hakai, believes it or not. A Low-Profile Presence is something unknown deities, punished deities, or weak gods possess. But as they grow, so does their presence and might unwillingly. Many learned to seal it away to the inner world, some to the outer impure and pure world.}

"Ahhhh, Ares, great news, must I say." Zeus's powerful aura beamed out of his body, excited.

"So, when shall we begin the preparations for establishing the courts and assembling the groups?"

"I have no interest in that. So, that shall be your duty henceforth." Zeus used his free hand to gesture to Ares out of the palace brashly.

"I have not finished my word with you." Ares's tone suggested he was irritated by Zeus's nasty attitude.

"What a tone, boy! Remember, for all, you are but an add-on to the God of War's title! Establishing an entire council to feel belonging? Childish!" Zeus's tone heightened, outraged.

"Fine, deal with it yourself." Ares stood to leave the palace. As an armed guard entered the room, the little throne vanished with a spark of lighting.

"My humble Lord! I have urgent news!" He strolled past Ares. Seemingly interested, Ares froze to listen in.

"An Angel happened to be nearby while Hakai God and The God of Death, Shinigami, confronted each other in Japan!" Ares scuffed. He was irritated that he could have kept this away from Zeus for mistreating him.

"What?" Zeus changed his seated position. Astonished by the news. "Ares, was this the urgent matter you wished to speak to me about?"

"Keep going, Dimosiográfos..." Ares ignored Zeus confidently, though he was still interested as Hakai revealed nothing to him.

"How dare you, phony War Lord!" Zeus thought to himself, riled by Ares's unacceptable behavior.

"The report suggests that The God of Death pursued the God of Destruction to join their ranks in a revolt to tip Earth and Heaven for control!" Dimosiográfos began perspiring while reporting the information revealed to him by a messenger angel sent from the Heavens.

"An army of impurities is forming in the underworld to launch a monumental conflict on the surface of humankind's realm, my Lord. The heavens are summoning an audience with Mount Olympus!" The corners of Dimosiográfos's mouth shook in fear.

"Ares!?" Zeus glanced over to where Ares was, but he was gone as soon as Dimosiográfos uttered his last word.

"Who's this kid?" Mai's father, Asuma, looked concerned for the lifeless Hakai.

"H-Haki-Kun!" Mai rushed to his side as her mother, Kaiyo, tried to dial the emergency services. "M-Mom, wait, don't!"

"Why? He needs immediate help!" She gently held the phone against her ear, worried that he might not make it if she didn't do the right thing.

"Please, let me explain to you later!" Mai was crying, holding Hakai's tense body against her own.

"Kaiyo, let's do as she says." Asuma closed the door, determined of something.

"Asuma, you can't be serious!" She placed the wired phone down, unable to believe her husband's unexpected actions.

"The time warp in Zeus's palace is weird," Ares spoke to himself, seated on a cliff looking over the modern capital city of Greece.

"My Lord, shall we begin?" A winged man swiftly landed behind Ares.

"Yes, let's get this done before the meeting."
