Chapter 72 - Chapter 70: Three-Way Battle

"Damn it, Shinigami, leave my mind!" Hakai struggled to stand.

"Hahaha!" The Camouflage phantom laughed off as it ordered the colossal version of itself to attack Hakai with a sweep of its hand.

"Aghhhe!" The spirit roared as it ran side to side, trying to make it to Hakai.

The other five mini clones began their charge, wielding their swords around.

"You'll attain your true power, be your celestial self, reach the meaning of true Godhood! Join us, brother!" Shinigami ordered as Hakai smirked.

"Y-You! Leave me alone!" He screamed while falling onto his other knee. His temperature rose as his heart fluttered. Then, falling to his left side, he curled into a ball, trying to force evil away.

"Get up, Hakai!" Inari said in her mind, waiting for him to move. But, instead, Aki Mai slowly made it off the horse with her help and ran towards him, worried.

"Haki-Kunnnn!" She shouted in his direction, but she was an entire football field away from him. He stayed on the ground, struggling. Then, looking back at Inari with tears, she begged her to do something. "Please, Ma'am, I beg you for help!"

Inari crossed her arms, profoundly staring at Hakai.

"What? Are you scared of your own might? Hakai, truthfully, no one can defeat you unless you choose to lose yourself." Shinigami's words seemed to harbor no lies.

"Now, come to our side! Let us bring Heavens down to its knees, begging!" Shinigami told Hakai.

"Sh-shut up!" Hakai uttered, hardly breathing.

The spirit was in front of Hakai, reaching to grab him with both hands. In contrast, the other five from behind him tried to stab him in multiple places simultaneously.

Slice!

Hakai appeared crouched behind the massive spirit. He faced the direction of the primary body.

Tmp-tmp-tmp

Hakai had sliced the reached right arm of the spirit into three pieces. Then, as it looked back to face Hakai and once again struck its other arm at him, he jumped, splitting his legs above it and slicing its other arm into cubes from the elbow down.

Hakai touched the ground, unhinged. Then, the mini clones began enchanting their blades with some spell, enhancing their reach.

"Ahheee!" It charged a massive beam from its melted lizard mouth.

Dinng!

"Stretchy Poisonous Ivy!"

The mini clones shouted together as the two in front swung their blades down towards Hakai. The other three pierced their tips in his direction, trying to stab him as all their swords stretched in the shapes of the ivy plant.

Boof!

The spirit fired the energy beam at him. Then, he opened his eye while the other attacks closed in on him.

Shkeen!

He appeared behind the neck of the enormous spirit, slicing and dicing it into little cubes. Finally, the phantom's head fell to the ground as it groaned endlessly. It waited to regenerate its lower body as the primary core resided in its head.

"Huh?" The new type sensed strange energy radiating off of Hakai.

"Haki-Kun is up! Is he okay? What happened, Inari-Sama?" Mai turned around with a smile of relief, pointing at him.

"Strange, his spiritual energy is strange indeed!" Inari had shock written all over her expression. Before addressing Mai with a new face, Mai had caught on to the previous look.

"What is it, Inari-Samai?" Mai said, reaching out her hand in worry.

"It's just... That was unexpected," Inari said, narrowing her eyes on him.

"Will ask him later." She informed Mai, letting her know that she wanted to watch Hakai instead of talk.

"Hah!" Hakai let out a huff of air as he stared back at mini clones.

Shkeen!

He appeared behind them, using his sacred weapons ability this time.

FYI: {Sacred Weapons are enchantable items. They also amplify the user's abilities and, in instances, range, battle tactics, etc. Sacred Weapons are blessed tools given to Gods and sometimes created anonymously. Sacred Weapons commonly possess an ability, rarely more than one. These weapons draw out power and enhance them from their users.}

"Calamitous Shockwave!"

Hakai shouted, tossing up the clones, drawing most of his energy into his eye.

Shkeen!

He appeared mid-air, slicing the first clone in half. He looked back with a trace following his pupil.

Shkeen!

He appeared above another, slicing its spine into two halves. Then, he looked above himself and spotted the third.

Shkeen!

He teleported below the mini clone, holding his daggers out, waiting for its momentum to skewer him. "You look like a tasty shish kebab." He taunted the spirit, tearing it into halves. While he came down into the crater, he spotted another attacking him.

"Rice Monster!" The high-pitched voice bothered Hakai as a monster made of rice formed under his legs, trying to eat him while falling together.

Shkeen!

"Not gonna work," Hakai taunted the mini clone, looking back before being decapitated. Hakai bounced off a rock and onto another until his attention was caught by the last one trying to attack him.

Shkeen!

He blew past the spirit, taking its head off and teleporting away.

Shkeen!

He landed on a rock, falling. He bounced from rock to rock until he made his way out. Coming out of the hole, he faced the primary evil spirit.

"Hakai God, do not bend to their rule! Let us be holy and just again!" Shinigami continued his ranting. "This was you once!" He showed Hakai an old image. "An entire cosmos trembling due to your presence!"

"Once those turn golden, they shall destroy and create. They shall bring forth and obliterate!" Shinigami lastly shouted into his head as Hakai finally fought back again.

"Get out!"

Hakai shouted as the camouflage phantom slammed its wrist together and from them sprouted a long rode of wide spiky flower stems aimed at Hakai. Luckily, before they could strike him, he regained complete control and could dodge by snapping his head backward in the nick of time, leaving a small gash on his chin and a couple of spikes stuck in his legs. Hakai stared at the phantom's head, unable to remember doing that.

"Your survival instinct is sharp." The high-pitched phantom uttered a compliment.

"Save me the praises," Hakai said, finally bringing his head forward and looking at the spirit.

The phantom ran, reaching sub-sonic speeds, as Hakai did the same. Then, the two charged head-on, and the spirit sprouted two stems of spikes from the base of its palms before jumping above Hakai and striking the stems at him. Luckily his branches were dull against the sharp daggers. As his momentum carried him down towards Hakai's blades that took off some skin from his forearms, he leveraged his foot against Hakai's chest. He jumped backward, landing from a backflip. Surprisingly his deep wounds had already healed.

"That was reckless and something a caliber of this spirit wouldn't attempt. So why did he charge me head-on so recklessly?" Hakai kept thinking to himself as the spirit seemed to stand there waiting for an effect. He stood in defense, waiting for it to attempt anything else, but another shocking surprise awaited him.

"I'm draining a lot of energy," Hakai said, surprised by how much he had lost energy. "I can't draw in positive energy right now, and my physical energy is almost, if not all, drained out."

"Could it be because of Shinigami's intervention?" Hakai asked himself as the spirit in front of him disappeared into the soil. "Huh?" He looked around, shocked.

Th-dmp!

Hakai felt a sudden vibration in both his forearms. "What the hell?" He said, having trouble gripping his daggers.

"Surprised as to why I attacked so carelessly?" The phantom asked Hakai while coming up from behind him. "I merely took advantage of your distraction and planted poisonous seeds into your arms. Those seeds will spread their roots, and your body will belong to me in no time." He explained as he cracked into high-pitched laughter, able to break a glass. "Ahahah!"
