Chapter 69 - Chapter 67: Arrival

"Oi, Mai-San." Hakai waited outside, below her window. "Are you done!?" He shouted as Mai opened the window and nervously looked at him with sweat dripping down her forehead.

"What should I bring?" She teared up so cutely as Hakai seemed a bit disappointed, sighing.

"I'm dropping you back home tonight anyway." Hakai shrugged, unable to think of something to recommend.

"Yeah, I know, but..." Teary-eyed, she felt like someone had lifted her off the ground. "Huh," She commented just before a trace vanished from the spot like an afterimage of her eyes.

Fwooo!

Hakai flew off from the window and into the open sky.

"Woah!" Mai screamed out her lungs, scared from being so high up.

"Let's go, let's go!" Hakai screamed, free-falling from the sky.

"Wait, we're gonna..." Mai tried informing him before the pair hit a nearby house roof.

Shup!

Hakai harmlessly landed on both of his feet.

Boof!

He vanished from the roof and onto another, jumping from house to house, down in the desired direction.

Dun Dun Dun!

Hachiman stood in front of a massive entrance guarded by two tall six-winged-armored angels. Branded by a number each on their chest armor. The angel to the left had the number "9," and the angel to the right was engraved with "8."

"Allow me entrance to the mansion of Gods," Hachiman demanded as the angles crossed their long spears, not granting him entrance.

"You have no right to be here. I advise your holiness to get a slip of admission momentarily." The angel to the right advised Hachiman, but Hachiman took offense and stood his ground again.

"It's an urgent matter. Allow me inside." He spoke, looking down to the eternal clouded sky beneath his feet.

"On whose's approval?" The angel to the left sounded ticked off.

"I who wields the power of war, A God amongst Gods, must respond to you?" Hachiman's dark, enraged aura began pouring out of his body.

"Is this it?' Mai asked as Hakai placed her feet on the ground.

"Hmm, this is the Goddess of Agriculture and Swords shrine." Hakai smiled with sparkly eyes.

"Well, Inari-San is easygoing, but she gets angry quickly. So please be nice," Hakai informed Mai before shouting his heart out.

"Oi! Inari-San, we're going to enter your shrine." Hakai placed his hands by his mouth, amplifying the sound. "Gimme your hand." Hakai reached his hand out and held Mai's before running into the doors of Inari's shrine.

Wham!

"Yes, her entrance bridge is still here." Hakai smiled as Mai hugged him out of fear.

"What was that?" She asked with her eyes closed.

Blushing, hakai softly smiled and told her to open her eyes. 'Look around. This is what connects our two worlds." He said, looking around the cluster of stars within Inari's dimension.

"Stars?" Mai said, looking around, blushing.

"Hmm, these stars are the creation of Inari-San. This is her world, the High Plain of Heavens, the Takamagahara." He informed her, catching her attention.

"So, The Goddess Inari exists?" She said, smiling.

"Hmm, all Japanese Gods do."

"So that really was the God of War, Lord Hachiman?" She screamed her heart out in disbelief,

"Yes, it really was," Hakai answered as she fainted.

"No, what happened?"

"Oi, Mai-San?" He shook her violently in his arms.

"Hakai, what're you doing here." Hakai sat outside of a curtain-closed room. Inside was a beautiful female figure that spoke with a soft voice.

"Well, Inari-San. I have a scroll that explains my intrusion..." He twirled his index fingers awkwardly.

"Is it regarding Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, the sword I created for you?" She asked him, revealing she was the creator of the katana that heaven blessed him with.

"No... Wait, you created it?!" He jumped as two guards took battle stances in front of the curtain.

"Sorry, sorry!" Hakai revealed his palms peacefully, sitting down while apologizing with a smile.

"Hmm." Inari scuffed, confirming she was the creator of the divine sword of virtue, Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi.

"It's great! I love it, thank you, Inari-San." Hakai leaned back on his hands, thanking Inari with a big smile.

Inari smiled brightly, blushing underneath her makeup. "Hmm." She scuffed, holding her red lip-sticked lips.

"So, Inari-San, can I hand you the scroll." Hakai searched in his belt bag while the curtain sounded like it had opened.

"Huh?" Hakai looked up to see a slim, pale-skinned, black hair figure that had it in a fancy pony, dressed in a long white and floral kimono dress that revealed her bust walking down the stairs.

"No need, Hakai God, I will personally accept it with my two hands." She smiled with her beautiful fatigued face.

"Inari-San?" Hakai asked while spouting a compliment. "You look amazing!" His eyes sparkled at her dress, and he noticed her delicate features. Her green eyes glimmered with bubbles. Her lips, decent-sized, captured his eyes.

She sat next to him delicately, close enough to accept the scroll personally from his hands.

"My lord, shall I open it." A guard to her right spoke, but he was rejected and told to step back. "Allow me and Hakai God some space." She smiled at her guard. Blushing, he accepted her order and went back to his guarding post. "What brings you here, Hakai God." She asked him while the scroll contained no information about his coming here.

***

"Hmm, I understand." She closed the scroll while Hakai explained himself. "I do have a fitting mission for you." She smiled.

"Really?" Hakai said, placing his palms together before the door behind them slammed open.

"Haki-Kun?" Mai said, entering the room.

"So I take this is the human mentioned in this long scroll of other information?" Inari said, standing up to examine Mai.

"Yes, Inari-San, I beg you to keep this a secret from the Heavens." Hakai slammed his head against the matted room. Inari stood feet away from the pair, looking back at Hakai with pity.

"Lord Hakai, please, lift your head. No need to beg me. After all, you were very nice to me." She walked up to him, holding him by the forearm and lifting him.

"If anyone, I should be sorry for misunderstanding you. I should be sorry for speaking ill of you." Inari stood close to his face while she smiled and looked at Mai.

"This is my way of paying you back, and I promise to give you something after completing this mission." She walked over to Mai and held her hand out. Unable to think correctly because of Inari's massive presence, Mai fell to her knees, bowing down her hand to the ground.

"Huh?" Both of the gods sounded confused.

"Mai-San..." Hakai said, holding out his right hand.

"Mai, was it?" Inari said, grabbing Mai from her wrist and lifting her off the ground.

"Yes, Goddess Inari," Mai tensely answered.

"I told her not to open the door, your highness." A guard behind Mai bowed his hand down in apology.

"It's okay."

"It's okay, don't be so tense." Inari waved her hand, giggling.

"Yes, I'm so sorry." Mai smiled and stiffened in her spot.

"Haha." Inari giggled cutely, cutting down on the tension.

"It is a pleasure to meet you." She held out her hand towards Mai.

"Same to you, your highness." Mai held her hand but then failed miserably by kissing it. Her gesture of kindness only caused Inari to laugh even more.

"It's okay. No need for all of this." She giggled, looking back at Mai softly, showing her teeth with a smile.

"Hmm," Mai giggled along with Inari. Hakai sat back, smiling while watching the pair interact.

"O-M-G, girl, your nails are beautiful." Inari held Mai's hand to her face, admiring her painted nails.

"Really? Want me to do yours?" Mai proposed as the pair took off out of the room.

"Huh?" Hakai sounded confused at how quickly they bonded.

"Yes, please. Do you know how badly I need to do my nails, but I had no time because of all the farming and sword creating!" Inari complained, walking out of the room while a guard shut the door.

'Huh!" Hakai shouted, standing up with a confused expression. "But I guess it's good for them." He smiled, sitting back down.
