"Haki-Kun?" Hachiman slowly turned his head to Hakai with disbelief and confusion. "Explain yourself." His eye twitched with anger. As Hakai remained silent, both Hachiman and Mai proposed a question to each other.
"Who are you?" The pair said simultaneously.
Opening the introduction, Hachiman told his name. "I am Hachiman of War."
"My name is Mai, Aki..."
"Wait... Human or Mai, how can you perceive my presence while not activating it for a human? let alone perceive Hakai's low profile presence?" Hachiman asked her, confused and taken back that a human could see his sealed inner presence.
"No offense to the Gods or Buddhas, but I can, or this curse lets me see the world of the dead or spirits." She mumbled her words, scared of Hachiman.
"Evil spirits are what Haki-Kun called these monster-like beings that follow and plague humans." She explained to him that she was also able to perceive impurities.
"Hmm, spiritual impurities created from manipulating that negative force, they leech off of negative human emotions." Hachiman unconsciously explained the origin of Evil Spirits to a human.
As the pair fell muted, a grind of teeth from Hakai got clamorous.
"I'm so damn useless." His eyes welled up with rage at his flaws.
Bam!
Hachiman chopped the top of his head in disapproval. "Knock it off, will ya?" Hachiman was pissed that Hakai was insulting himself for an odd reason.
"But, I couldn't do a damn thing against him!" Hakai retaliated, strengthening the grip on his katana. Hakai's major flaw was letting temporary emotions overtake his mind during intense moments. As a result, Hakai lacked balance within himself.
"So? That doesn't mean your useless." Hachiman reassured him with uplifting words. "The God of Death is an ancient deity, one of seven original wishes." He told Hakai about Shinigamis' true origins. Shinigami's grasp over the battle's outcome was massive, and in Hakai's current conditions, they couldn't stretch that Shinigami would end the fight in mere seconds in his favor. "Quite frankly, I cannot fathom an outcome in a battle between myself and death." Hachiman tried to consider the outcome if he had intercepted Shinigami in time.
Hachiman began to see earth split cleanly through the axis, lit and plagued with the fires of misery and end.
Hakai gasped, unable to comprehend the result of a clash between two massive powerhouses.
"Mai, was it?" Hachiman turned his head to Mai, wanting to get her name right.
"Yes." She answered him.
"In this new life of a thousand years, I haven't come across a human able to perceive the outer world." He informed her of the particular case in front of him. "If you'd like me to, I could present you to the High Court." He offered a proposal but was stopped short by Hakai's retaliation.
"No." He expressed disapproval.
"What do you mean no? They are the only ones with answers to this." He snapped back at him.
"Are you sure Heaven isn't going to use her?" He asked Hachiman, unable to trust them.
"You're overthinking it. What if Mai's spirit punctured between life and death?" Hachiman swung his arm upwards and dropped it with annoyance walking towards Mai, telling Hakai that he was stretching it out.
"Leave it to me, Hachi. I'll find an answer." Hakai stopped Hachiman by holding him back from the wrist.
"Ugh," Hachiman sighed. "Mai, will you be fine with it?" He asked her before being cut off by Hakai.
"Mai-San, I'm sorry that you saw this side of me. But unfortunately, this is our world where the sanest turn into insanity. I can't guarantee it, but if you want an answer, you will need to join me in my mission of acquiring power, and on the path, we can learn about things for your case?" He offered her a stern proposal.
Taken back, Mai stayed quiet as a picture of her dead brother, one who looked just like her but in a manly version, appeared in her thoughts. Her curiosity grew as she gave her answer.
"Yes, please." She bent her head while she brimmed with amusement.
"Uhhh, what bout her individual life…?" Hachiman slapped his forehead, exhausted from Hakai's idiocy. "What about her school-personal life?" Hachiman asked the pair, tired of them awkwardly filtering.
"Aw, Miko's heart will be crushed if she catches these two. So why deny Miko and let her come?." Hachiman thought, placing his palm onto his face with a bit of jealousy.
"But, no matter. I trust you, Hakai." Hachiman lifted his palm off his face.
"Oh, yeah!" Hakai held his chin as Mai looked up to the pair fluttering her eyes.
"Good question!" Hakai said, chuckling and expressing silliness.
