I thought I was dead?
What is happening?
The last thing I remember was hitting the car and then I was sent flying. Then I was sent to what appears to be the darkness of death. But if I am dead why am I still aware of my thoughts? But on top of that, what is that light?
A bright, white orb-like thing is right in front of me, tho only the size of my thumb, it's quickly expanding. In about an hour the orb expanded to the point I could not see anything but it.
Once it covered my vision I heard a genderless, ageless, almost robotic monotone "Soul transfer complete."
Suddenly I could feel. The wind against my body, the cold air, the texture of grass, the scent of a forest, the sound of running water, the music of birds chirping. Slowly but surely I started to move my body, starting with opening my eyes. Once my eyes were open I could see that I was lying face up in the middle of a forest. Soon after that my arms and legs began to comply with me and started moving. Immediately something felt off, I felt smaller than I was before the accident, and my senses felt a lot sharper.
As soon as could I sat up to take a better look at my surroundings. It appears that I was lying next to a small lake at the edge of a large forest. After taking in my surrounding, I felt like something was missing, I looked down.
"Well, I am not male anymore," I said in a kind of sweet voice that was clearly different than the one I used to have, "this settles it, I am clearly not in the same body I was in before the accident."
Since I could sit up the next reasonable step would be to see if I could stand and walk. Once I tried to stand I was presently surprised that it felt natural, even running felt like I have been doing it in this body my whole life not just for a couple of minutes.
Well since this is what I look like now why don't I see what I look like. I nervously head to the lake to see if I can look at myself in its calm water. Once there I look down at my reflection, a girl who looks no more than 12 with shoulder-length black hair, but that was not the most striking thing about my reflection, it was the cat ears and tail the looked like they came out of an anime.
After taking in my reflection for a little longer I notice a chest a couple of feet away. Walking over wondering what was inside, I bend down I undo the clasp keeping it shut, and open it. Inside was a set of nicely folded clothes that I desperately needed to cover up my naked body, but on top of the clothes was a letter. Picking up the letter I open it and been to read its contents.
Hello, I am the Manager of this World
First off I am sure that you're wondering why you're here and not dead. To put it simply I was bored and I thought that putting you here would spice things up a bit and I assumed that would not mind much. Secondly, I am sure you're wondering why you are in this body, not your old one, well your body was not able to change worlds like your soul was, so I made you a new one. Lastly, I think I should explain a little about this world, first this world is called Elderwood. Next, this world is home to magic and skills, to display your skills all you have to do is think "status screen open" and to open description windows for your titles or skills, and to assign stat points all you have to do is will it. To use skills, all you have to do is to think "activate [skill name]" and it will activate, but there is a cooldown time where you can't use that skill tho it differs from skill to skill. For magic, it is slightly different, first off it is divided into ten levels or ranks which increases in difficulty, for example, the Rank 1 wind spell Breeze only causes a slight gust of wind vs. the Rank 10 wind spell hurricane causes a category 4 hurricane. Even tho magic seems so powerful full and all mightily, it's not, to cast magic you have to chant a magic spell and supply it mana, the amount required increases exponentially according to the rank. Mana resupplies itself 1 every second until it hits its max, the max can only be increased by leveling. Lastly, you should hunt monsters to increase your level which will in turn increase your stats. After reading the letter, I crumple it up and toss it behind me. Deciding to test out my new information to see if it was true or just bull shit, I think to my self "status open" and before me, a screen like a video game appears before me.
