Bulwark didn't mind the bizarre expression on the earthling's face as he walked near but it had a tinge of apprehension in its heart. But before the dragon could take a step backwards, Adam's palm had already touched its scales.
"Hope this works."
The words that left the lips of the earthling made the beast shake off the contact. "What the heck are you doing?" It probed with furrowed brows.

Adam sized the dragon from head to toe and asked, "You don't feel any discomfort?"
There must be a faint humming in ears and a headache accompanying it.
"No, why?" Bulwark stared into Adam's non-existent soul and queried.
The response pushed Adam to the pit of gloom.
