They had just told the other guy not to speak or else retribution would chase them. Isn't this a bit too quick?
The elf and human shuddered in fear and they lowered their gaze to see the dwarf trembling like a leaf. His prayers had intensified and his tone was fragile and shivering.
"I don't want to die."
The human uttered and quickly fell on his knees, followed by the elf. The trio began to recite their prayers but the vibration only grew stronger.
But the next moment, they felt something drifting above their heads. Whistling fiercely, that object collided with the crossbow and the impact loosened the affixed machine's foundation and threw it off the floor. As the line of defence blasted a hole in the wall and vanished from the sight, the trio was aghast.
God, that was an inch above our heads!
The dwarf and the elf shuddered at the devastating sight and lie flat. But it was the human who displayed some doubts as his brows knit.
