Sigh~
Finally! It's over!
With a mental utterance, the interfaces faded into nothingness and Adam slowly rose onto his feet. Stretching his muscles as he let out a yawn, Adam then turned to Gilbert.
"I'll be back soon."
The elf was startled by the action of the human. "What are you doing?", he retorted.
"I'm going for a walk," said the earthling as he added, "Stay put. I'll be back soon."
Saying this, Adam paced away from the spot and vanished from Gilbert's field of vision. The elf was cautious and followed the earthling a bit but felt intimidated by the presence of the patrolling soldiers. He quickly retreated to behind the bushes and remained silent.
In his heart, he prayed for the young man's safety.
...
A couple of hours passed by in silence and the darkness invaded the serenity of the day. The blackness expanded the cover by a great extent and the elf perceived the laziness of the patrolling soldiers kicking in.
