• From an unknown world came two distinct threats - Spectre and Fiend.
• Spectres are white-coloured ethereal beings. Mere physical attacks are ineffective to them while spells and mana reinforced attacks can do damage. Their favourite is a person's soul.
• Fiends are crimson-coloured corporal beings that range in size, style, structure and sanity. Though this race cannot utilise mana, they can absorb mana reinforced attacks, store them and project them back while amplifying their strikes. They devour the brains of beings.
• These races materialise in the world through a Rift, a phenomenon where the Stygian Realm overlaps with specific enclosed space coordinates in the overworld. At once, space inside the coordinate in the overworld would be distorted to enable an entry point for both sides. The area can be easily distinguished as the colour would be inversed.
• The overlapping usually takes place far from settlement areas as too many external variables (living beings and moving objects) can disturb the bridging process.
• There are five classifications for Rifts based on their size and strength of the overlapping, and grade and the number of threats.
1. Typical - Within ten metres, F and G grade threats.
2. Dilemma - Few tens of metres, D and E grade threats.
3. Nightmare - Within a hundred metres, B and C grade threats.
4. Vengeance - Few hundreds of metres, S and A grade threats.
5. Catastrophe - Almost a kilometre, Z and X grade threats.
• The Rift and Dungeon are opposite in nature. So where there is a dungeon, the probability for a rift to spawn is negligible.
