~Chapter 49~
It was late in the evening when the group arrived at Baas' hunting cabin, the two suns half way through their descent. Baas was still unenthused by the idea of keeping Fon around, and had threatened to kill her a half dozen times during their journey, with 2 of them being after the drug had worn from her system.
Fon's mount, which was a young, dull grey Iferisom with pale yellow stripes, named Faltri, had been in no condition to make the trip. After having summoned her up at Mae's request, Fon found herself tied up and in the back of the wagon. Mae was appalled by Faltri's condition, thin, scared, and unhealthy, and had it not been for Baas holding her back and reminding her that this wasn't an uncommon issue, Fon would have found herself being dragged behind the wagon instead of riding in it.
