Mae groaned as she sat up, rubbing the side of her head. Every part of her ached, but her head felt the worst.
"Won't be doing that again," she muttered, while daring to open her eyes.
The dim light of the room, made it easy for her eyes to adjust, and she immediately recognized her surroundings as one of the patient rooms in the city's infirmary. The flat grey walls made of dried sheets of mushroom stalk, rounded into the coved ceiling, where a heat ring hung from the center. She had been there a few times over her stays in the Quarter, being treated for minor cuts and scrapes that she'd earned during her training sessions, despite trying to avoid it after her first encounter with Kina'Volrinn, the primary care provider for the entire city.
