After some more time of traveling, the group finally saw the entrance of Qinhuai Town. In front of the entrance though, was a guard - which was quite odd.
In normal circumstances, unless there was a highly noble person roaming in the town or village, there would never be any guards at the entrance. There was also one other reason why there would be a guard: the town was a majorly important location for trade, religion, economy, or politics. However, Qinhuai Town was nowhere near to being one of those important locations, so this was very strange.
Going to the entrance with the means of entering the town, the group was stopped by the only person guarding the entrance.
"Halt! No access to outsiders!" the guard shouted at everyone.
The physicians and imperial guards sent by the emperor looked at each other with a confused face. At the same time, the physicians sent secretive looks at Wei Kangnuan - as though wondering something.
