Chapter 34 - The Elves Story

[You've received a new quest from elder Caron!]

-Save the Elf's small village.

Yumiro accepted the quest without knowing the monsters who would like to attack their village.

He slowly patted his head, as there was an upcoming skirmish that might happen sooner or later.

"But before we proceed with your village problem, let me ask you one more thing." Yumiro said while narrowly looking at elder Caron.

Elder Caron that already kneeled on the wooden ground barely lifted his head. So Celine immediately assisted him into a seated position.

He shook his legs as he felt numb. "Hehe, I can't bend my knees now for too long." Elder Caron said with a weak tone, eventually darted his eyes at Yumiro. "What is it, Grim Draigh? We are glad to answer all your questions that you want to know."

Yumiro wasn't the type of guy who would like to his time. So he quickly asked him. "I'd like to know if you're also an adventurer who came from the earth?" He pondered to them as he coveted a specific answer.

Celine and Elder Caron took a glance at each other, then raised their shoulders and shook their head at the same time. Seemingly it was the first time they heard those words. "Do you know what he's exactly saying?" Elder Caron murmured to the woman next to him.

Celine shook her head once again as she had no idea what she supposedly answered with him. "Sorry, Elder Caron. But even me had no idea what is the earth? That is food?" She responded while seeing Grim watching their reactions.

"Sorry, young adventurer. We are not aware of the earth that you mentioned, but the thing we can assure no one here is an adventurer. For 100 years I inhabited here, it never came to our minds to become an adventurer like you." Elder Caron said with an unstable tone.

His eyelids were widened after hearing those Elves were older than he expected. Nevertheless, he had an idea where were those elves came from.

'Hmm... It seemed all the elves here are NPC?' He mumbled as he didn't have enough information to prove it.

One of the Elf's good characteristics was a sharp hearing sense. So it was inevitable to hear the precise words that came out from Grim's mouth.

"NPC? What's that? You're saying too many terms that we are not familiar with." Celine said in a high tone.

Yumiro scoffed, "Don't mind what I said, let's just proceed my ques... No, I mean to your village request." Since he thought those elves were NPC which part of the system programmed. So he decided to couldn't speak about their identities.

Elder Caron came back again in his miserable expression after recalling his request. "We will really understand if you change your mind after hearing our village favor. But, I'm here and what I truly plotting about, it's that we need your help to save our village from the numerous monsters' attack."

"Numerous? Aside from that, what're the specific monsters that will attack your village?" He barely rubbed his chin as he seemed got interested to hear more about their problem.

"Yes, this monster called Kobold..." Elder Caron started to get emotional as he recalled some of the sad scenes that happened in the past.

"Why he's crying? I didn't do anything wrong here."

"Call him, Elder Caron! Rabbit." Celine tried to mock him because of his white hair, but it seemed her words hadn't affected him at all.

"When every time, Elder Caron said that monster name. He always remembered the hundreds of Elves got to die from the Kobolds' hands." She bit her lower lips while clenched her hand into a fist.

The atmosphere for those elves was getting heavier as they could not accept why the world granted the elves race, fate like this.

Yumiro hummed, it was looked like he certainly understands them. "Why don't you try to fight back? Celine and others are quite skillful when we talk about the combat skills."

Caron rubbed his teary eyes. "We tried, we always try, but the Kobold strength is exceeded from the Elves' capabilities."

"Those Kobolds are skillful than the elve race?" He was surprised as he witnessed how Celine easily come closer to him.

Those elves nodded at once while they had a miserable expression on their faces. Since Caron having a hard time to spits some words, so Celine stepped aside to continue the story. Or to be exact, what was the main reason why they were chasing by the Kobolds.

She cleared her throat. "Let me share the true story of the elve race. A long time ago, our race is peacefully inhabited at the Lynx Kingdom, or usually known as now the Lynx forest."

"Come on, continue your story stop being emotional."

Swift!

She pointed again her black steel knife under Yumiro's chin as she didn't like the rude behavior of this young man. "Insult again our race, I assured you, I'll separate your head from your body." She slowed down the endpoint of her knife onto Yumiro's neck.

"Stop it, Celine! Do what he wants, tell the story! Ehem! Ehem!" Caron hardly coughed in front of Yumiro.

"Are you okay, Elder Caron?" She asked.

"I'm fine, Celine. Just do what he says, remember, we are the ones who ask for the help of this adventurer."

"I'm sorry, Elder Caron." She positioned him beside the wooden, so he could rest in the meantime. Then suddenly, Celine glared at Yumiro.

"If I heard one word from I'll cut this story."

"Okay, okay, I'll be quiet." Yumiro said then put all his attentions on Celine's face.

"Tch! 100 years ago while the Kingdom celebrating a big event, there are hundreds of Kobold possessed by a magic element arrived in our Kingdom. They destroyed our all resources in just the blink of an eye, we tried to defend our Kingdom, b... But because of their intense magical powers thousand of elves died." She had a strong appearance from the outside still, she was a woman that had a soft spot.

Her story caught Yumiro interest, so he asked something. "What is the main reason, why the Kobolds came after with Elves race."

Celine stared at him with furious eyes. "They wanted our blood."

"Your blood? But why?"

"Our blood is called royal blood. They want our blood, to revive the strong monsters that sleeping in the Lynx forest 400 years ago. And the remaining Elves here are the only key to revive it."

Yumiro flinched after hearing those words. In his mind, if the Kobold revived the strong monsters, it was impossible for him to escape from this dungeon. Now, he had a reason to help them.

"What we should do?" He asked.

"We need to fight back no matter what it takes." From far, Elder Caron spits some words, it seemed his strength was barely recovered. "But it isn't easy than you expect, because they have a strong leader called Korbu, he's the one we need to eliminate first."

Yumiro checked the time besides his function screen, "5:02 PM," In his mind, he must get back in the real world before 7:00 PM, to have dinner with Amiya.

"Okay, I'll help the Elve race, but don't forget our agreement that you will give the scroll or whatever you called that."

Elder Caron plastered his face on the wooden surface. "Yes, it will be granted to you, thank you so much, young adventurer. The elve race wouldn't forget it."

"Elder Caron, you don't need to do that, I don't like someone begged in front of me." Yumiro said while the lamplight beamed his red eyes.

Tok!

Tok!

There was a bulk elves knocked on the wooden door, "Sorry for the disturbance, Elder Caron. But I would like to inform you that the food for the feast dinner is finished."

He clicked his finger, as he was delighted to hear that he could finally taste the food in the VR World.

"Elder Caron, we should eat first, so we can make a wise plan." He smirked when the old man nodded at him.

"It seems you're right, Celine, can you assist me?" The bulk elves and Celine helped Caron into a stood-up position.

"Celine, I can handle this, just assist that young man to get his attire for our feast dinner."

"Yes, father. And you follow me,"

Yumiro and Celine headed in opposite directions and entered one of the wooden doors before. While walking she couldn't help to spits some words that appeared on her mind.

"Adventurer, you must save our lives, it might be this is the last chance that we will be having dinner. Because I know, tomorrow night this place will become a bloody battleground."

Yumiro only heard the screeched the wooden surface in his every step, and pointed his rusty gauntlet under the lamplight. "Don't worry about me, I'll do what all I can to save your village."
