Chereads / Demon Heart: Trying to break the fate / Chapter 17 - Run-on the curse

Chapter 17 - Run-on the curse

Anthony stares at Marten and Patrick's faces alternately. He took them to his room so that he could speak more freely.

Patrick looks calm as well as Marten, he looks not depressed at all.

"Why do you want to help me?" Ask Anthony to Patrick, he already knows the reason Marten but Patrick hasn't said what the reason.

"Because you will be the king." Patrick's answer makes Marten immediately turn to him. "Are you being blatantly licked, prince Anthony?"

"What's the difference with you?" Patrick replied briefly, he wasn't at all bothered by what Marten was saying while Anthony was still silent, he let these two young soldiers before him finish their debate.

Marten certainly didn't accept Patrick's remarks, he immediately got up and looked at Patrick furiously.

"I have a good reason to help the prince because I know what it's like to lose a lover. I just want to help him get revenge, while you help him just because he's going to be king?"

Patrick then wakes up, unhappy that Marten has yelled at him.

"You feel like you have the same fate?"

"Of course!"

"The Prince lost Princess Airin because someone killed her while you lost your lover because of your stupidity. Hunting when the lunar eclipse is coming is the dumbest thing I've ever known!"

" How dare you!" Marten grows so that he doesn't hesitate to push Patrick's body until he hits the wall and pressed against Patrick's chest with his arm. Her fangs are visible while his two eyeballs turn red.

"We were on our way home at the time! You say it's easy because you never know what it's like to lose someone you love!"

Instead of being depressed, Patrick laughs slowly and for a second he pushes Marten's body to make him fall.

Marten doesn't accept, he's just about to attack Patrick with his sword but Anthony suddenly stands in front of Patrick making Marten's move stop instantly.

"You want to fight in front of me?"

"Prince..." Marten looks disappointed but Anthony remains standing in front of Patrick until Marten finally rinses his sword. Marten was so angry that he went straight out of Anthony's room and now only Patrick and Anthony are left.

"You still show your fangs in front of me, you want to fight with me too?" Anthony said, he stepped back into his chair.

Patrick still manages his breath before his fangs disappear, he sits back in his original place, right in front of Anthony.

"If I wasn't crown prince, are you still want to help me?"

"Nothing can change fate."

Anthony raised his eyes, Patrick was a smart guy, he was good at playing his words.

"Your and princess Airin destiny was established before you were born."

Anthony was increasingly interested in this conversation because Patrick sounds like Airin who believes in destiny.

"She was born to stop, you."

"Airin once told me that, but why should I stop? I didn't commit any crime."

"If she hadn't been killed then the war with the wizarding kingdom would never have happened. The witches believe in curses, they gain their power from spells and curses are spells of evil. When the curse says that if one day a vampire who has the power of the moon god will destroy them then that is the thing that will happen and now it has happened. You and Princess Airin are running the curse."

What Patrick says makes sense, if only Airin hadn't been killed then he would never have destroyed the wizarding kingdom.

"You are interconnected even though one of you is gone you stay connected."

"What do you mean?"

"The curse."

Anthony suddenly held his breath, he recalled if he ever cursed Airin when Airin insisted on leaving him.

"We live in the same universe only sometimes the time that distinguishes, when there is death then there is a new life, in the future or the past, we live the same life and bonded."

"So you're saying Airin was reborn the other time?"

Patrick shows his smile for the first time. "That's right."

Is that why I can still feel her? Anthony wondered in his heart if the curse was so influential for the witches, would Airin return to him like the curse he made for Airin first?

"Even if you're dead you'll still be looking for me."

Anthony dissolves in his mind, he's eager to believe what Patrick has to say but does it make sense?

"Does Airin's death have anything to do with me?"

"Of course, destiny always finds its way."

"How do you know if it's real or not?"

"Everything has happened, has all this become unreal?"

Anthony's face suddenly pales, he will increasingly blame himself for Airin's death if Airin's death happens because of him.

"Your power comes from the moon God no one can defeat you if you are together which is why you should not be together until the curse is created."

"Fuck the curse!" Anthony hit the table, he was very angry because everything was heard if no one in the universe approves of his relationship with Airin.

"Darkness envelops you, prince."

Anthony immediately raised his gaze and looked at Patrick sharply, he felt increasingly angry.

"That's why I want to be by your side because I don't want darkness to rule you while you have millions of well hidden behind your vengeance, prince. When the grudge pays off there are only two options, sinking into the darkness that has almost completely overwhelmed you or getting out of that darkness and starting a new life with kindness while waiting for the time when you are reunited with princess Airin's. So allow me to be your advisor prince Anthony because that's the destiny I got."

Anthony can't believe Patrick's words completely but his remarks about meeting Airin again make him hopeful, even though it's just a lie Patrick made but Anthony was eager to believe it.

Believing that Airin will return to his side like his curse.

"Even once, Even though I have to lose my immortality... Airin, I'd love to be back with you."

***

Airin always felt under surveillance while at home so she deliberately took Jenny to visit the library located a few blocks from Temandric's residence even though she had to bring a recording device given by Tamara because she was afraid that Airin would complain about all her bad deeds to Jenny.

"Your face looks pale, are you sick?" Ask Jenny, she steps up while picking out the open that she will read.

"I'm fine, I probably wear too much foundation." Answer Airin who followed Jenny's steps from behind.

"I'm glad you have a family that loves you. It doesn't feel like six years have passed but sometimes I still like to worry about your situation because somehow they haven't cared for you since baby so I'm afraid they can't love you wholeheartedly."

They don't love me one bit! Oh, if only she dared to say what she experienced to Jenny because her life with temandric's family felt like a scary curse.

"Jenny..."

"Yes, dear."

Jenny waited for Airin to speak, but Airin remained still and looked at her with a squealing stare and slowly she began to cry.

"What's the matter, honey?" Ask Jenny who immediately hugged Airin tightly.

Airin was still crying, she hugs Jenny very tightly as if she doesn't want to let go especially when her heart screams to say everything she experienced to Temandric's family.

"Jenny, I..."
