"Should I be a dwarf?" The water spirit said, looking angry "Look, just because other blacksmiths are dwarves, doesn't mean all have to be. I will have you know that my powers are very suited for the cooling of metals." She said as she lifted water out of the river and shot it at Sydra.
"Alright, that was my bad," Sydra said, dodging the water. "Anyway, I came here to give you this." He said as he called all the ingots out and placed them on the ground in front of the forge.
"Is that all?" The water spirit asked, only slightly impressed by the variety of ores and minerals in front of her.
"No, I was also supposed to show you this," Sydra said holding the blacksmithing manuscript in his hands. Walking over and taking it from him, the water spirit's eyes started to shine.
"Haha, I guess this makes up for your rude assumption earlier. If only slightly." She said flipping through the manuscript. "However, I can not read the words written here, so I am not entirely sure if this does."
"Oh that is an easy fix, hold on a second," Sydra said pulling out a blank parchment of flowing sands paper and a pen. Setting both these items down on a table, Sydra wrote out the Plasma Era alphabet with the corresponding letters of the Phisloke alphabet beneath them. "This should help you out, all you have to do is translate the language over now." He said handing her the parchment.
"Okay, you have fully made up for your earlier blunder." She said smiling sweetly as if Sydra had just handed her a puppy. "So what do you need?" She asked.
"I was actually hoping to make a deal with you," Sydra said calling out the hammer, which landed in front of the two of them. "I need, now and probably again in the future, items made for me. I was hoping by giving you this hammer, that you would agree." He said as the water spirit studied the hammer.
"I won't lie, this hammer has definitely grabbed my attention. I will need to forge something with it before coming to a decision on this. You wouldn't happen to have any request would you?" She asked, looking at Sydra with her head tilted sideways.
"Yeah, actually. Do you mind crafting two daggers for me out of these?" Sydra asked, pulling out the spider mandibles.
"Hmm, yes I could probably make some poison, slash plasma daggers with these. Anything else?" The water spirit said, taking the mandibles from him and inspecting them.
"Not for me, how long do you believe it will take?" Sydra asked, eager to get his hands on some new daggers.
"Come back tomorrow and they should be ready." She said, placing the mandibles next to the manuscript. "I will also be done with the manuscript, so I will give that back tomorrow as well." She said.
"Sounds good, the name is Sydra Glass by the way," Sydra said reaching out his hand to her.
"Echo Lily, and it would be a pleasure to work with you if you bring me more stuff that is." She said, shaking his hand. A few minutes after Sydra had left to go to the tailors, Robert ran up to Echo.
"Hey Echo, has a tall man with white hair and piercing blue eyes been here? He has a jaw that looks sharp enough to cut Diamondic Steele." Robert said, slightly out of breath.
"Yeah, he just left. Said something about heading to the tailors." She said, picking up the hammer that Sydra had left behind and giving it a few practice swings. Robert was shocked, as each swing of the hammer caused the air to ripple.
"Wow, just how strong are you?" Robert asked, "Not even I can pick up that hammer."
"That's because this hammer is enchanted to only be picked up by true blacksmiths. By the way, I found something in this manuscript that may interest you." Echo said opening up the manuscript to an image of a Plasma Era vehicle. "Although not all of these diagrams would work with you Fluttershi, I could upgrade it a little. After all, Sydra brought me a lot of ingots that could be used. I even see some Void Obsidian in there which could be used to upgrade it with a phase ability. Basically allowing your Fluttershi to enter a separate dimension, while still being in this dimension." She explained to him.
"Oh?! I like the sounds of upgrades, so as long as you don't damage it, you can do as you please." Robert said handing her the crescent moon key to his vehicle. "Anyway, I have to get going and catch up with Sydra. There are several things I have to tell him, especially about the fact that the dwarves have already sent people here." He said rushing off to the tailors, leaving Echo to get back to her work at the forge.
...
'Ding' Sydra rang the bell at the counter of the tailor shop. Coming from the back was Cidre, and when he saw Sydra he called out to his great-grandfather.
"Pop-pop, there is a very important person at the counter!" Cidre yelled into the back.
"Oh? Who could be here?" Pop-pop said, walking out of the back room. "Oh, it's you, Sydra I am glad you came. I heard you saved my Cidre here from some traps in the ruins. That is the second time you have helped my family. From now on, you are family to me." Pop-pop said, clasping Sydra's hands in his own.
"That is good, makes this much easier," Sydra said, about to pull out the spider's abdomen.
"Wait, not out here!" Cidre said in alarm. "Come to the back room with us, it is more open back there." He said leading Sydra to the back room.
"What is this all about?" Asked Pop-pop, slightly confused about what Sydra had to do.
"You'll see in a second" Sydra said as they stopped at an open area in the back room. After moving a few tables out of the way, Sydra pulled the spider's abdomen out in the space created.
"Wow, what is this?" Asked Pop-pop, walking up to it, and running his hands over it.
"It is the abdomen of a large Plasma Spider we killed while exploring the temple ruins. Its thread is incredibly strong, and with such a large abdomen, it should contain a lot of thread. We thought you could merge this with other thread to create better backpacks." Cidre explained looking at Pop-pop's face filled with excitement.
"Actually," Sydra said stepping up next to the large abdomen, "That is not all, as this will produce unlimited web strands. Placing his hand on the blue and gold cog on the top of the abdomen, Sydra activated it. The end that produced the web opened up and let a string of web fall out and curl up on the ground. When he took his hand off the cog, the abdomen stopped producing web and the cog started to spin. As the cog spun, the abdomen filled back up with the web.
" How does it do that?" Cidre asked, unaware of such a function.
"Don't ask me, how should I know?" Sydra said shrugging his shoulders.
"Either way, this is too much to accept, so instead I will make you a deal. If you ever need anything, feel free to come in and take it. If you accept, then I will gladly take this from you." Pop-pop said, smiling.
"Deal, I will be heading out then. Once you have created some backpacks from the upgraded thread, let me know. I'll come back to exchange my backpack for them." Sydra said heading out of the tailor shop. A few minutes later Robert showed up at the tailor and ran up to Cidre.
"Hey, has Sydra been here yet?" He asked in a hurry, grabbing onto Cidre shoulders.
"No, he just left. I think he was headed to the Inn down the street." Cidre said, unable to pull away from Robert's strong grasp.
"Dang it, not again," Robert said, rushing out of the tailor shop.
'Wonder what that was all about' Cidre thought to himself as he went back to helping Pop-pop gather thread.
...
"Finally back, wonder how many days I have left on my stay here," Sydra said aloud, walking into the Inn. Taking a few steps, Sydra paused as he felt an intense murderous intent coming from behind a potted plant. Looking over, Sydra was surprised to see a young maid glaring at him.
'What did I do to her to cause her to want to kill me so badly.' Sydra thought as he started to walk away quickly. He wasn't too worried about the maid, because she was only an F-rank adventurer. Getting back to his room, Sydra headed to the bathroom to take a pee. Trying to lift the toilet seat, Sydra was surprised to find it stuck tightly down.
"Don't tell me..." Sydra thought of the other day when he had left a log in the toilet. "That maid was her." Really needing to pee, Sydra was about to go ask one of the rooms next to his if he could use their bathroom when he heard a knock on his door.
"Who is it?" Sydra asked opening the door before Robert barged into the room.
"I found you! Come with me, we are going to an auction!" Robert said grabbing Sydra and dragging him out of his room.
"Wait! I need to pee!!" Sydra shouted, trying to get away, as he felt like was about to burst.
