Chapter 8 - Military Barrack

As soon as Yusheng returns back to the military barracks, the soldiers loitering around the place can't help but stare in his direction after seeing the bloodstain on his robes.

After taking a glimpse of his visible purple eye which was brewing with an overwhelming chill, they quickly lower down their heads.

Although they have experienced wars and aren't novice when it comes to an oppressive atmosphere, the sharp visible right purple eye sweeping their figures has easily caused their heart to tremble in dread and fear.

At that single instant, they completely understand that the usually gentle and thoughtful Imperial Prince isn't the gentle person from the last time they saw him anymore.

Their usual brazen attitude will not be forgiven, it will be dealt with ruthlessly and will be a completely unforgivable crime to the Royal Family.

No matter what they feel from inside, all of them need to show Yusheng the proper respect an Imperial Prince should have.

The second Imperial Prince isn't someone that they could provoke now.

The majesty and imposing atmosphere of a superior person they could not detect before when facing the Imperial Prince has now appeared.

Of course, there will always be foolish people, especially those who have already experienced the sweet taste of being treated carefully by an Imperial Prince, giving them excessive confidence and proudness.

"Qi, order the Military Doctors to quickly come along with the General Lieutenant and meet me as soon as possible."

Instead of going back to the resting place to change the bloodstained robe, Yusheng walks over to the large open space in the military barrack where the soldiers usually hang out in their free time.

The group of the injured and uninjured soldiers follows behind, with another group of people carrying the dead body of the horse that has its head cut off.

"Your Royal Highness, please take a seat."

Without his asking, a quick-witted soldier hanging around the open space swiftly takes a chair and respectfully sets it in a proper position from where the whole place is visible before he bows respectfully after finishing everything out.

"Soldier, tell me your name."

After Yusheng sits down his visible right purple eye cannot help but notice the young soldier's attitude, who was still slightly bent in a respectful bow toward him.

"Your Royal Highness, this humble person is named Gouzhi."

No last name can mean that the young soldier is a person with common origin.

"Gouzhi, I'll remember you."

Yusheng's attitude towards the solemn and quick-witted soldier turns gentler before he finally turns his eyes away to wait for the people he has called.

At the same time he silently uses the loyalty detector on the young soldier.

Soldier: Gouzhi

Loyalty to Su: 85% Unwavering Loyalty

Loves the Empire, willing to fight in order to protect it.

Loyalty to Host: 55% Responsible Loyalty

Recognizes and has a genuine, respectful attitude towards the Host's Royal Identity

Yusheng inwardly raises his eyebrow after seeing the loyalty percentage along with some additional description about an individual's certain loyalty.

Especially when the young soldier gives the feeling of someone familiar to him in his previous life memories, which seem to be in a blurry state.

Nonetheless, he can easily understand that the young soldier has done something in the previous life that he left a presence in his memories.

Before Yusheng can continue thinking more deeply about it, the Military Doctors and the Lieutenant General in command of the military camp have finally arrived before performing the regular ritual when greeting the Royal Family.

"Military Doctors, hurry and treat those soldier's injuries."

Instead of focusing on the Lieutenant General, Yusheng turns his attention to the Military Doctors, pausing for a second at the handsome young man with an elegant atmosphere around him.

And then he turns his eyes away and calmly listens to Guang who has bent over to his side, whispering advice regarding his attitude toward the commander of the military camp.

"Guang, don't worry. After experiencing hardship, there is an important fact that I learned today. Now, let me show it to you."

Yusheng's usual straight posture suddenly relaxes with one of his hands casually placed over his cheek while the other is placed over the armchair and begins a slow tapping action.

The entire time, Yusheng's dark expression slowly loosens up along with the thinning heavy atmosphere, but the people standing in silence nonetheless can't help but straighten up.

Even though the unexpectedly majestic Imperial Prince is giving a more relaxed feeling, the dread in their hearts remains while a cold drop of sweat slides down from their temple to their cheeks and chins before it gently drops down in the ground.

He may look casual from his outward appearance, but from their instincts which developed from long years of protecting and fighting in the border between the Su and Wang Empire, they can perceive a hint of murderous intent from the usually gentle and thoughtful Imperial Prince.

"Lieutenant General, I'm sure that you already heard what happened. How are you going to handle the situation?"

Yusheng calmly smiles with his purple right eye gazing straight at the Lieutenant General who is tense but still has a casual attitude standing before him, completely in disbelief at his sudden change of attitude from the normal one.

"Your Royal Highness Yusheng, we have properly examined everything meticulously to watch over your safety, and the horse was also safe for Your Royal Highness to use."

"Oh… Are you implying that I was at fault for causing the horse to suddenly turn berserk? That not only did I put myself in great danger, I even caused the soldiers who came along to watch over my safety to suffer from injury?"

The entire atmosphere in the large open space has suddenly turned silent as Yusheng casually speaks those words out that made everyone's heart jump in fear.

Despite this, they can't help but feel uncomfortable after witnessing how their Lieutenant General has swiftly kneeled, appearing to fear angering a Royal Family.

"Your Royal Highness, please forgive me. I wasn't trying to speak it that way. It's just that I believe and trust my subordinate's ability to make sure that Your Royal Highness is in the best hands. We have no idea how the accident happened."

"Hey, don't speak in that way. Your words and actions are creating a great misunderstanding. You are basically showing that I am putting all the blame on you. Isn't only right for me to question you after everything that happened? Especially when you are the person I had given the task to personally handle my safety."

Yusheng can't help but raise his eyebrows after perceiving how the Lieutenant's hidden actions are causing the soldiers to start resenting him once again, especially after he can see the slowly declining loyalty of most of the soldiers toward himself.

Well… well… I think I found the other person who had wanted to lower my prestige in the army after joining.

A flash of cold chill appears in Yusheng's visible purple eye before he turns his attention towards the Military Doctors who have been quietly treating the group of injured soldiers, stopping a few longer at the young man that caught his attention a while ago.

"Well, in order to be fair and not wrongly blame people, I will allow a Military Doctor to examine the dead body of the horse right here and now. I have brought the horse along to see if it's crazy behavior was naturally caused or not."

When Yusheng sees how the Lieutenant General has nodded his head without hesitation, the corner of his lip can't help but slowly raise when the Head of the Military Doctor is called out to check the dead horse.

"Let us call another Military Doctor to examine the dead horse in order to make sure that everything is alright…"

Yusheng slowly raises the hand that has been gently tapping the wooden armchair and points it at the young handsome man with an elegant atmosphere, who had easily got his attention because of the red dot underneath his lower lip on the left side.

In this world, the eye-catching red dot has a special meaning, just like the soul mark.

"Young Military Doctor, would you mind accepting my request?"
