Chapter 6 - Escaping

Jeremy was taken to the interrogation room where he was all alone and had enough time to think about the situation.

'Something is definitely not right. I didn't kill anybody and why is no one talking about that assassin?'

Jeremy began to put the things into two and two because he was on his own now.

While he was thinking Connor arrived in the room with a file and wearing a serious expression on his face. Jeremy immediately sensed that he was not going to believe in anything now.

"Mr Jeremy Grayson, you have been charged with the murder of XXX guy on XXX street, today two hours ago."

The detective replayed the whole scenario in his mind and it took him a few moments to realize.

Jeremy didn't have the memory implantation chips to keep his thoughts safe, that's why it took him time to do the thing himself because nothing was permanently stored.

"Wait, I didn't kill that guy. I completely deny the murder, it's an accusation."

Jeremy defended himself loudly but Connor didn't budge and played something on the wall.

It was the footage of Jeremy running carelessly and pushed the guy, who fell on the road and accidentally clicked on a knife symbol.

"That's an accident clearly. I bumped into him but it's certainly the victim clicking the knife symbol on his wrist system."

Jeremy had had enough of his gibberish and it disappointed him that Connor wasn't believing in him.

"How come that's on my part? I'm definitely innocent of any charge."

Connor stared at him but didn't ask about the biker which made Jeremy suspicious that he took the initiative.

"Who was the assassin? Why no one is talking about him? He could be the killer, no?"

Jeremy shot up from his seat but an imminent electric shock circulated in his body, forcing him to sit back. He pursed his lips in disappointment that he was being treated as a murderer.

"Because he isn't the killer. The guy had no identity and wasn't caught in any footage or any flying bot all over the area."

Connor left no chance for Jeremy and he wasn't able to defend himself either. Thus, the infamous detective became the highlight and was sent to the central jail, upon a ridiculous scenario.

Jeremy was laying on the bed deeply immersed into thoughts.

'This isn't fair. How can Connor do this to me? He didn't even let me hire any lawyer.'

The detective immediately knew that now he was on his own and had no one to help him. But perhaps the assassin who vanished into the portal had another plan.

Every person was asleep when Jeremy snapped his eyes open sensing an unfamiliar feeling.

"Where,"

Outwardly his eyes shone blue indicating a non human but Jeremy had no consciousness.

"Where am I?"

Jeremy was in a void in his head and the whole thing felt real that he had no idea how to react.

It was dark with nothing around him when a voice resonated which accompanied a light. And soon a screen appeared in front of him with a few sentences.

[Hello Jeremy Grayson, I'm axela. I was planted in your head as a guiding system by your maker.]

The name appeared on the screen while Jeremy was stranded in the void. But the system's feminine voice stirred many questions in his head.

"Maker? Elaborate to me. What do you mean by you are in my head?"

Jeremy questioned the system for the first time.

He didn't have the audacity to ask anything to the 'death guy' who had been using him but for some reason Jeremy was adopting the situation.

[The master planted me in your head and I was supposed to get activated on a particular day.]

"Oh!"

Jeremy had seen to what extent technological could be used and that mysterious biker even broke the limitations.

Teleportation experiments failed but the biggest disaster ate the scientist by dragging him into the void.

"Can you help me to get out of this jail?"

Jeremy awaited a useful answer.

[Yes, I can help you. But due to the limitations set by master, you're not allowed to merge with me yet.]

The system axela explained but Jeremy seemed to have no interest other than getting out of there.

"Okay, whatever it is I will abide by the rules."

The detective agreed and skimmed his eyes through the black void, hoping anything good would come.

Again a light emerged and Jeremy Grayson was back into his cell with a floating feminine figure in front of him.

"What even...I'm definitely not dreaming, right?"

Jeremy got startled seeing the system guide in front of him.

But before he could do anything further a portal appeared in the wall and upon the gesture of Axela, Jeremy jumped into the void with a gulp.

Before leaving herself she flew up to the camera and transferred some current shocks which deleted the footage of the particular cell.
